The councilor of Sports of the City Council of Vélez-Málaga, Manuel Gutiérrez, appeared this morning to report on the drafting of the first preliminary report on the project to install a new water heating system with a heat pump and dehumidification in the covered swimming pool of the municipality, a historical demand from the users of the complex for which the corresponding procedures have already been initiated by the Delegation to address an endemic problem, due to the age of a boiler and obsolete infrastructures.
The meetings held by the councilor and technicians of the Area with the company Duarte Fernández have been fully satisfactory, as a detailed review of the actions necessary to improve the heating system of the pool has been carried out and a preliminary report is already available. As Manuel Gutiérrez has reported, this is the first step before drafting the execution project, after which the award of the relevant works will be publicly tendered to resolve a situation that the current councilor of Sports has considered a «top priority,» ensuring that «we will not stop until it is resolved.»
In this sense, Gutiérrez has claimed that «the councilor of Sports keeps his promises, and proof of this is the presentation of this preliminary report,» the first step to «ensure that our users of the covered pool of Vélez-Málaga can enjoy the facilities in perfect condition.» «Since my arrival at this Delegation, I have met with municipal technicians, monitors, and users to firsthand know their demands, and I will do my best to respond to each and every one of their requests.»
Regarding the technical constraints, Roberto Duarte, a specialized technician and responsible for the company Duarte Fernández, has stated that any intervention other than a complete renovation of the heating and heating system will aggravate a problem that essentially originates from the fact that «the boiler and dehumidifying machines cannot generate sufficient heat conditions to supply the entire complex, they have completed their cycle and need to be renewed.» Therefore, work is being done to achieve a new water heating system with a heat pump and dehumidification, with this model considered the most suitable for the facilities of the covered swimming pool.
Optimal Conditions
The councilor of Sports has once again called for calm regarding the current conditions of the pool. «We can guarantee that the maintenance and cleaning tasks carried out daily on the state of the water and heating as well as in the complex comply with all the regulations and controls required by the Junta de Andalucía and the competent authorities in terms of swimming pools and sports facilities.
In this regard, the municipal head of the Area has emphasized the controls to which the facilities are subjected and the treatment of the water, complying with «all quality standards» and respecting current regulations. «As always, sanitary water controls are carried out every six months, as stipulated and marked by the Junta de Andalucía,» insisted Manuel Gutiérrez, who, in turn, has emphasized «the taking of two daily analysis samples and a meticulous work of maintenance and water control in different aspects such as temperature, humidity, chlorine, and other standards.»
In any case, the councilor has asked the pool users to «be very calm,» clarifying that «all maintenance and cleaning standards required are met.» Currently, a team of four pool maintenance officials monitor the condition of the water and carry out the necessary interventions and repairs in the facilities of the covered swimming pool of Vélez-Málaga.
