Vélez-Málaga será la capital del deporte inclusivo este sábado, acogiendo la Liga Andaluza en el Vivar Téllez.

The municipality becomes a nerve center for sports in favor of social integration with the event held at Vivar Téllez, where the local team, Juventud Axarquía Fundación Rincón, will face teams from various parts of Málaga. It is the first time the city has hosted the Inclusive Andalusian League. The Sports Department has shown its «unconditional support» for the team led by Francis Ayala, a sports project that emerged in December and is sure to bring many joys to the local sports scene. On Saturday, starting at 10:00, they will compete in this tournament for the first time on Veleño soil. Attendance is free.

The municipality of Vélez-Málaga is preparing to host numerous events and activities this weekend, turning the capital of La Axarquía into a focal point in the cultural, festive, and sports scene. In the sports aspect, this will be through the celebration of the Inclusive Andalusian League, an initiative that will bring together teams from different parts of the province of Málaga, including the local team, Juventud Axarquía Fundación Rincón, a team that was recently formed and will compete with strong competitors this Saturday starting at 10:00 at the Vivar Téllez Stadium. Attendance is free until full capacity is reached.

The Sports Councilor of the Veleño City Hall, Manuel Gutiérrez, who presented the event this morning alongside the president and head of the inclusive club, Francis Ayala, expressed his «great pride in the emergence of a new team in our municipality,» which, in his opinion, clearly reflects that «we are a city that is committed to sports.» He also extended a welcoming hand to the new club, stating that they have the full support of the Sports Department and are available for anything they may need. This welcoming approach is also extended to all athletes, clubs, and organizations working every day in Vélez-Málaga to promote and showcase our municipality.

Furthermore, Gutiérrez emphasized the value of a project «born with the vocation to help people in need of support,» within an inclusive framework where they aim to work not only with Juventud Axarquía but with all initiatives promoted in the municipality by individuals, groups, and associations. This commitment to inclusivity and support for sports activities has been demonstrated by the councilor’s active participation in various sporting events to date, including school sports activities and matches of the local wheelchair basketball club, Amivel. «We are here for this club and for all proposals that foster a sports-friendly, healthy, and supportive environment,» emphasized the municipal Sports Department head.

The head of Juventud Axarquía Fundación Rincón, Francis Ayala, expressed gratitude for the support shown by the Sports Department and the local government for a project that represents a personal challenge and a significant social commitment linked to football. Ayala highlighted the project’s focus on promoting sports among individuals with disabilities in favor of social integration, physical well-being, and equal opportunities. He mentioned that the new club originated from an initiative started three years ago, competing at the regional level since then, and emphasized the excitement shared by him and the players to participate in the tournament in front of their families and fans for the first time on Veleño soil.

High-profile Matches

The local team is participating in a tournament, the Inclusive League, organized by the Andalusian Football Federation in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Málaga. This Saturday, February 15, they will be part of the event alongside the Veleño team, Adipa Antequera, Fundación Málaga CF Memoria, and the sports club AMDDA, making it «a true celebration of inclusive football and sports,» as emphasized by Manuel Gutiérrez, who encouraged massive public attendance at the Vivar Téllez, showing support for this special club.

Juventud Axarquía Fundación Rincón had its grand debut on December 15 in Vélez-Málaga, laying the foundation for an inclusive sports project that the Sports Department will support to ensure the best possible future for them. Gutiérrez emphasized the City Hall’s desire to become a provincial benchmark for inclusive football. The participating teams will face each other from 10:00 to 13:30, with 8-a-side matches, unlimited substitutions, played in half court, and open to players aged 15 and above. «It is a beautiful league, embodying the great values that should always be present in sports,» stated the Sports Councilor and the club president, encouraging fans to attend and enjoy this special event.
