Los festejos de Cajiz inauguran el calendario de ferias este fin de semana.

One of the typical celebrations in our municipality will start on Friday, March 14 at 5:00 p.m. with the procession in honor of San José. Among the countless orchestrated activities, highlights include the popular paella and the hot chocolate on Sunday.

On Friday, the Queen and Mister will be chosen in the festive atmosphere booth, and there will be performances by Araceli González, the orchestra «A Compás» and DJ David Tovar. Saturday’s main attractions will be the comedian Manolo «El Catalino» and «La Cebolla y el Negro Jari».

On Sunday, it will be the turn of the magician «Alejandro Luigui», the horse ribbon race, and the group «Por derecho».

The residents of Cajiz are finalizing the celebration of the Fair in the population center, a significant event of coexistence and fun in which both the citizens and the visitors who participate each year will once again demonstrate the undeniable involvement that exists in this hamlet in every event that takes place, a guaranteed success thanks to the participating public and the commendable work led by the group of stewards, who, on this occasion, have prepared a program of events in line with the Department of Popular Traditions, which will once again bring shine to the streets and squares of Cajiz. Friday 14, Saturday 15, and Sunday 16 of March, mandatory dates with the Cajiz Fair.

The population will begin its festivities with the traditional processional start, the departure of San José, accompanied by the music band and the traditional «salves», in an already emblematic route that will receive unanimous support from residents and visitors and will culminate at 8:45 p.m. with a fireworks display, after which the performance of Araceli González will take place. «Every passing year we manage to offer our residents a more complete program of activities, musical performances, and other initiatives,» emphasized at the event presentation Jesús María Claros, deputy mayor of Cajiz, who highlighted «the impressive work carried out by our stewards, who, once each fair ends, work hard to ensure that the next celebration achieves the same successful outcome as the previous ones.»

In line with the deputy mayor, the councilor of Popular Traditions, Lourdes Piña, has not overlooked «the significant impact of the Festivities Board and the stewards, the true responsibles for making the fair weekend in Cajiz a true example of passion, devotion, and leisure for all attendees.» In addition, the municipal official has added to the equation the «good work of our operational services,» along with the work of the Local Police and Civil Protection, «all indispensable so that festivities for all ages can be celebrated with all necessary safety standards.»

Ambitious program

Verdiales groups, orchestras, DJs, comedians, and other surprises make up an ambitious plan of activities where special mention goes to the large popular paella, on Sunday at 2:30 p.m., and the hot chocolate and sweet table at 5:30 p.m. The music atmosphere booth will open on Friday with the election of the Fair’s Queen and Mister, and on Saturday we will have the performance of comedian Manolo «El Catalino», as well as the great show of «La Cebolla y el Negro Jari». Previously, at 5:00 p.m., the procession around the patron Saint José will take place again.

On Sunday 16, it will be the turn of the Verdiales group «Arroyo Conca», at 1:30 p.m., preceding the popular paella and the typical horse ribbon race. In the afternoon, we will have the magician «Alejandro Luigui», at 3:30 p.m., the group «Por derecho», at 5:00 p.m., and the awards ceremony for the ribbon competition. The evenings will be enlivened by the orchestra «A Compás» and DJ David Tovar.

«I am convinced that we will experience a beautiful and very special day for all the residents of Cajiz and the visitors who want to share this coexistence, to whom we expressly invite to get to know one of our most popular traditions,» concluded Claros, who also wanted to remind that on Wednesday, March 19, at 6:00 p.m., there will be a departure of San José at the church door with a final fireworks display to end the party.
