Desmantelan club de fumadores sin licencia y con drogas

The Local Police of Marbella dismantled a supposed smoking club located in the Nueva Andalucía area that lacked an opening license and where narcotics were being sold. The agents seized a total of 1,182.2 grams of marijuana, 85 cigarettes of the same drug, and 71.6 grams of hashish, as well as utensils for cutting and weighing, and €855 in cash. During the operation, a 29-year-old Austrian national was arrested, who had a specific control annotation from the Central Court of Instruction number 6 in Madrid for a crime against public health.

The investigation began when representatives of the property owners in which the establishment was located submitted two written complaints to the City Council warning about the start of activity of the establishment, called ‘Cosy Gaming’, and the suspicion that it did not have the corresponding permission and that narcotics were being consumed inside. Various inspections by the Delegation of Facilities, Activities, and Opening of Establishments were unsuccessful as they could not access the location, so the matter was referred to the Police Headquarters.

During the surveillance service carried out in the area where the establishment is located, the agents reported two tourists for possession of narcotics, who claimed to have purchased marijuana at the alleged smoking club. They then proceeded to inspect the business, observing inside that there was activity of a public hospitality establishment without music, with elements typical of such a venue such as a bar, a refrigerator with drinks, or a coffee maker, but also containers containing marijuana, hashish, marijuana cigarettes with plastic wrappings, three knives, a cutting board, a label maker, and a precision electronic scale.

Additionally, the police seized €855 in cash and requested the mandatory opening license from the person in charge, who admitted not having it, as well as not having civil liability insurance, so the activity was immediately suspended. The individual was arrested for an alleged crime against public health, and the case was transferred to the National Police Force.
