The Andalusian Government has approved the Relación de Puestos de Trabajo (RPT) for the judicial bodies of the 70 districts that must adapt to the Law of Efficiency of the Public Service of Justice before July 1, which implies a restructuring of the staff in the face of the replacement of single-judge courts by collegiate bodies. The new structure includes the creation of 80 new positions and new leadership positions with a salary supplement, which means that the Ministry of Justice, Local Administration, and Public Function is assuming an investment of more than 3.5 million annually.

After months of negotiations with the Justice unions, to whom the Minister of Justice, Local Administration, and Public Function, José Antonio Nieto, has thanked for their work and dialogue during this time despite not reaching an agreement, the Ministry has approved this RPT, necessary to meet the schedule set by the state law which, in the case of Andalusia, requires adjusting the staff of 82.3% of the judicial districts.

The regulation requires that by July 1, all judicial districts with Mixed Courts and specialized bodies in Violence against Women must be adapted, which in the case of Andalusia are 70 out of the 85 existing in the community where a total of about 9,000 officials work. By October 1, three other judicial districts (Marbella, Torremolinos, and Fuengirola, all in the province of Malaga) must be adapted, and before the end of the year, the remaining 12 corresponding to the eight capitals in addition to Algeciras, Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María (all in Cadiz), and Motril (Granada).

The adaptation to the law will not only result in a reduction in the number of positions and economic rights of the staff, but in the 70 judicial districts that will be adapted in the first phase, 80 new positions will be created, 60 of them newly created and 20 that will become structural, as they were previously held by reinforcement staff. Likewise, new leadership positions with a salary supplement are created.

All this represents an «economic effort» of 3.5 million annually, in addition to the adaptation of judicial infrastructures to the new structure of the instance courts and judicial offices. An economic effort that the Government is making alone since, as the Minister has been reminding, the Ministry of Justice has not allocated «a single euro» for the regions with transferred Justice competencies to implement this law.
