Alta ocupación hotelera en Semana Santa en Ronda

Martínez emphasizes that the number of reservations from Holy Monday to Holy Wednesday has significantly improved, which previously had an average of 50%

Forecasts for hotel occupancy during Holy Week in Ronda are at an average of 90% for all days, as reported by the delegate councilor for Tourism, Ángel Martínez, who is also responsible for the municipal company Tourism of Ronda, S. A. Martínez revealed on Wednesday a report prepared by this company with data provided by four and three-star hotels in the city.

Thus, four-star establishments show a «very high» occupancy throughout Holy Week, with an average of 90% and even peaks of nearly 97% on April 17 and 19, Holy Thursday and Good Friday, as indicated by the Tourism representative. He also noted that tourists opting for higher category accommodations tend to have higher purchasing power and therefore a greater spending capacity in shops and hospitality establishments. «Holy Week is faith and culture, but it also means that hotels fill up, which translates into a lifeline for many sectors,» Martínez stated.

Regarding three-star hotels, it is estimated that they have an occupancy rate close to 86% every day. «The overall average suggests a Holy Week with very good average hotel occupancy, between 89 and 90%, with special intensity on the central days. This means a very positive outlook in terms of tourism. This is a very pleasant surprise because it is an average and not just peaks on specific days. We are very satisfied,» Martínez added. In this regard, Martínez also mentioned a continuous tourist demand throughout the year, «with a constant average occupancy.»

Furthermore, Martínez highlighted the positive forecasts despite the closure of the A-397 road connecting the Serranía de Ronda with the western Costa del Sol, a key entry point for many visitors. «If tourists do not come, many businesses suffer, affecting the jobs of many people,» he remarked.

Additionally, Martínez emphasized the support of Tourism of Ronda for Holy Week with subsidies of €1,000 to each of the brotherhoods, as well as the second edition of a photography contest in collaboration with Culture and Festivities, seeking the best images of Passion Week 2025 with prizes of €300, €200, and €100.
