Torremolinos faces the May bridge with a forecast of 90% hotel occupancy
International tourism accounts for 80% of visitors with stays in the municipality exceeding the holidays
The town, which doubled its population during Holy Week, ended the start of the peak season with an occupancy rate of around 95%
Torremolinos, May 1, 2025.– Torremolinos faces the May bridge with the forecast of reaching a hotel occupancy rate of 90% in the coming days, with a large influx of visitors expected in the town, according to the estimate of the Hotel Entrepreneurs Association of the Costa del Sol (Aehcos).
International tourism will continue to be the main source of visitors to the destination during a bridge where foreign visitors will represent 80%, with stays in the municipality exceeding the holidays.
The town, which doubled its population during Holy Week, with a presence of more than 150,000 people between permanent and floating population, ended the start of the peak season with an occupancy rate of around 95%, with a significant impact of international tourism accounting for 65% of hotel occupancy compared to 35% of national visitors.
In the first quarter of the year, Torremolinos recorded 179,450 travelers and is already approaching one million overnight stays, having reached 852,205 overnight stays in the first three months.
The town starts the peak season with the aim of surpassing the figures of the previous year, the best in history, which ended with over a million travelers and nearly five and a half million overnight stays.
For this May bridge, the town’s beaches will have uninterrupted lifeguard service from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. The personnel deployed on the coast will ensure the safety of swimmers during a period in which people with disabilities will have access to adapted bathing services on the beaches of Torremolinos.
The Torremolinos City Council has carried out intensive cleaning work on the town’s coastline in recent weeks to restore the beaches to their splendor after being affected by various storms that have hit the town in recent months.
