Reparación del muro del CEIP Blas Infante en Torre del Mar, iniciadas por Atencia

According to the initial reports, these walls, being elastic, already showed some cracks in the cement that will be addressed. They will not be patched up, but rather demolished and rebuilt in order to dispel any doubts as they are located in an educational center.

The first deputy mayor of the municipality of Vélez-Málaga and deputy mayor of Torre del Mar, Jesús Pérez Atencia, appeared on Thursday morning to inform about the work that will be carried out at the CEIP Blas Infante in Torre del Mar and lamented that the opposition «takes advantage of a situation that has arisen in this educational center to engage in low politics against a City Council that has been on the side of this and all the schools in the municipality from the very beginning.»

In this way, Pérez Atencia stated that «we have called this press conference to inform about the events that have taken place in recent days at the Blas Infante school in Torre del Mar, which unfortunately has been exploited by the opposition parties, PSOE and Andalucistas, to try to create fear and alarm in the educational community. That is why, as we have always done, from the Deputy Mayor’s Office of Torre del Mar, we come out to face the situation and speak clearly on matters where very few are committed.»

The councilor reported that «from the very beginning we have been aware of the situation. As soon as we became aware of the problems detected in one of the walls of the school, coordination was immediately activated with municipal technicians, the municipal company technician, and the Municipal Buildings Department for its repair. A series of tests and checks were carried out immediately to take action. The affected courtyard has been sealed off as a preventive measure and the action tasks have already begun, ensuring the safety of the entire educational community.»

«According to the initial reports, these walls, being elastic, already showed some cracks in the cement that will be addressed. They will not be patched up, but rather demolished and rebuilt in order to dispel any doubts as they are located in an educational center. It will undoubtedly be an urgent solution, in which we have acted from the very beginning and which is in line with the work we have been doing in all the schools in the municipality, most of them old, deteriorated, and a result of the neglect of those responsible in that area: the Andalusian Regional Government and the Spanish Government,» added Atencia.

The deputy mayor of this city, «I want to inform that since 2015 we have always been willing to work for the educational centers of the municipality. That’s what we have done. Addressing each and every demand that has been brought to us and that has been within our reach. Among them, the Custodio Puga dining room, protections, non-slip floors, classroom air conditioning, among others.»

Regarding the opposition’s attitude, Atencia indicated that «I do not understand the spokesman for the PSOE, Víctor González, who comes forward with statements that leave him exposed, pointing at this deputy mayor, who has not stopped working for the schools of the municipality while he has always looked the other way. What has Mr. González done for the schools of the municipality? Nothing. What has Mr. González contributed to the schools of the municipality? Nothing. Neither he nor his party. Now he talks about lack of foresight when he has done absolutely nothing for Vélez-Málaga for two years.»

Regarding Pino, «I am not surprised by his attitude. A low-profile politician, who doesn’t even know where the Blas Infante school is, but who takes advantage to lie, engage in populism, and try to gain from a situation they love, as it is a breeding ground for their low politics of lies and negative discourse against Torre del Mar. There is no doubt that Vélez-Málaga and its politics have a problem. It is none other than the opposition, which instead of demanding new educational centers from those responsible, prefer to bury the residents of this municipality. Incapable of doing anything for others, working only for themselves and their own,» the councilor concluded.
