El Ayuntamiento de Estepona continues working on the special plan for the comprehensive remodeling of neighborhoods, which will include nearly fifty streets and squares in the municipality. The open tenders for the drafting of the projects have attracted the interest of companies, who have submitted a total of 12 proposals. As usual, the economically most advantageous proposal for the municipal coffers will be selected.
The neighborhood remodeling plan currently has three interventions. One of them focuses on about twenty streets and squares in the surroundings of the Botanical Garden-Orchidarium, Avenida Andalucía, and Plaza del Ajedrez, covering an approximate area of 17,074 square meters. The streets included in this project are Plaza Antonio Mingote, Maspalomas, Plaza de la Comunicación, Zurbarán, Hermanos Costaleros, Locutor Juanma Herrera, Salvador Dalí, Pasaje Cristo del Amor, Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza, Gibraltar, Greco, Velázquez, Juan Gris, Cid, Híspalis, Ibiza, Sorolla, and Miró.
The proposed works will involve the renovation of pavement, infrastructure, gardening, and urban furniture, with the aim of modernizing and transforming this area that was built over three decades ago, to adapt it to the improvement and urban transformation actions being carried out throughout the city.
The base bidding budget for the drafting of the project is 234,300 euros (VAT included) with a deadline for submission of four months. Once the project is completed, the bidding for the execution of the works will proceed. This tender has received four offers.
The second scheduled intervention is for the Tres Banderas area and includes more than a dozen streets and squares, where the renovation of pavement, gardening, infrastructure, and urban furniture has been planned.
The streets included (completely or partially) in the area are Tres Banderas, Pablo Neruda, Santo Domingo Guzmán, Isaac Peral, Jorge Juan, Velasco, Gravina, Rodríguez Acosta, Escaño, Alsedo, Juan de la Rosa, and José Luis Díez. A total estimated area of 11,300 square meters will be intervened.
The base bidding budget for the technical services contract for drafting the construction project, site management, and health and safety coordination is 133,100 euros (VAT included) with a three-month submission deadline. This tender has received three offers. Once the project is completed, the bidding for the execution of the works will proceed.
The third open tender is for the drafting of the project to intervene in the streets Valencia, Formentera, Cabrera, and Conejera. A total estimated area of 8,111 square meters will be intervened.

The Deputy Mayor of the Department of Promotion, Infrastructure, and Tourism (FIT), Ana Velasco, explains that this plan aims to carry out a complete improvement intervention of all the streets to modernize and transform the areas, which are currently outdated, to adapt them to the improvement and urban transformation actions being carried out throughout the city.
The intention is to homogeneously renovate the paving and furniture with noble materials and modern and efficient design elements, as well as a reorganization of spaces, pavements, signage, and signage, and the elimination of architectural barriers. Another key objective will be the reforestation and planting of gardens and trees in the refurbished garden areas to recover and beautify the existing vegetation.
El objetivo de estas licitaciones es llevar a cabo una intervención integral en las calles y plazas de Estepona, con el fin de modernizar y transformar las zonas que actualmente se encuentran desfasadas. Se pretende renovar la pavimentación y el mobiliario con materiales nobles y elementos de diseño modernos y eficientes, así como reordenar espacios, pavimentos, señalización y señalética, y eliminar barreras arquitectónicas. Además, se buscará repoblar vegetalmente los espacios ajardinados renovados para embellecer la vegetación existente.
La teniente de alcalde del área de Fomento, Infraestructuras y Turismo (FIT), Ana Velasco, ha destacado que este plan busca mejorar por completo el conjunto de calles y plazas para adaptarlas a las actuaciones de mejora y transformación urbana que se están llevando a cabo en toda la ciudad.
En cuanto a las licitaciones abiertas, se han recibido un total de 12 propuestas por parte de las empresas interesadas en participar en los proyectos. Se seleccionará aquella oferta económicamente más ventajosa para el Ayuntamiento.
Además de las intervenciones en las calles Tres Banderas, Pablo Neruda, Santo Domingo Guzmán, Isaac Peral, Jorge Juan, Velasco, Gravina, Rodríguez Acosta, Escaño, Alsedo, Juan de la Rosa y José Luis Díez, también se contempla la redacción del proyecto para las calles Valencia, Formentera, Cabrera y Conejera. En total, se intervendrá en una superficie estimada de 8.111 metros cuadrados.
El presupuesto base de licitación para cada contrato es de 133.100 euros, con un plazo de tres meses para la presentación de las propuestas. Una vez elaborados los proyectos, se procederá a la licitación de la ejecución de las obras correspondientes.
En definitiva, el plan especial de remodelación integral de barrios en Estepona busca mejorar la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos, modernizando y embelleciendo las calles y plazas del municipio para adaptarlas a las nuevas necesidades urbanas y estéticas. Después de finalizar la elaboración del proyecto, se llevará a cabo el proceso de licitación para la ejecución de las obras. Se busca renovar la pavimentación y el mobiliario de manera uniforme con materiales y diseños modernos y eficientes, así como reorganizar espacios, pavimentos, señalización y eliminar barreras arquitectónicas. También se prioriza la repoblación vegetal y la plantación de jardines y árboles en los espacios ajardinados renovados para recuperar y embellecer la vegetación existente.
