The Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) has published the order from the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality regulating and convening for the year 2025 the recognition of ‘Space free of LGTBIfobia’, in terms of diversity, which will be awarded to those public and private entities and institutions that, through their trajectory or actions, promote respect for the human rights of LGTBI people.
The purpose of this qualification is to give visibility to those environments that represent, especially in Andalucía, spaces of peace for LGTBI people, where they live with full equality, respect, security, and free from any sign of LGTBIfobia, aware of the need to continue advancing in actions that promote equality for all people regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity in all places in Andalucía.
Likewise, it is intended that this recognition has a multiplier effect in raising awareness and sensitizing the population to prevent and detect any type of violent act against LGTBI people and their families and to promote the practice of values based on respect for sexual diversity.
The recognition will be awarded to those public and private entities and institutions that, through their trajectory or actions, promote respect for the human rights of LGTBI people, within the Autonomous Community of Andalucía.
Entities interested in obtaining the qualification must meet the following requirements: that among the activities they carry out, they expressly include activities that promote equality and non-discrimination rights of LGTBI people; that they adopt organizational and/or technical measures to ensure that their cultural, recreational, leisure, and free time activities are enjoyed in conditions of equality and respect for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, expression, or gender identity, and to prevent any act of prejudice, harassment, and physical or psychological violence against the users of these activities; and in the case of public entities and institutions, they must demonstrate that in the last three years they have allocated funds from their budget for diversity-related actions.
The deadline for submitting applications will be from the day after the publication of this order in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía, until June 30, 2025.
The recognition, of a symbolic nature, will consist of a distinctive logo of the identifying image «Space Free of LGTBIfobia». Recognized entities and institutions may use this distinctive logo, expressly indicating their name, the corresponding edition, and the name of the Ministry.
