Encuentros de Cine con Juanma Bajo Ulloa en el Hospital Real

The Hospital Real de la Misericordia will be the setting on Monday, June 23 for the ‘Encounters of Cinema’ series, at 8:00 p.m., with the participation of director Juanma Bajo Ulloa who, the following day, will lead a workshop as part of activities organized by the municipal delegation of Culture. The first of these consists of meetings with prominent filmmakers from the national scene, where their work is valued, their influence is analyzed, and their contribution to the seventh art is studied.

Regarding the second proposal, which will start at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the 24th and is called ‘Cinema of the 21st Century: art, ‘content’ or propaganda?’, spaces are limited to a total of 15 and registration is free, with the deadline being Friday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. Interested parties must send a letter of motivation and/or curriculum vitae to the email address areadecine@marbella.es with the subject ‘Workshop Juanma Bajo Ulloa’, through which their participation will be confirmed.

Bajo Ulloa was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Basque Country). In contact with the world of image since childhood through the family’s photography store, he grew up observing the world through the lens of a camera, leading to a genuine and early passion for cinema. At the age of 14, he shot his first award-winning short films. At 17, he founded his own film production company, Gasteizko Zinema, and at 22, he shot ‘El Reino de Víctor’, which won the first Goya from the Spanish Academy of Cinematography, awarded to a short film, in a long professional career filled with accolades.
