Mijas, June 26, 2025.- The Las Lagunas Fair has already started with a complete program of activities for all audiences. In this way, the celebrations of the Lagunas area will continue until June 29.

Mijas Mayor, Ana Mata, was in charge of kicking off this event with the artistic lighting ceremony, which this year consists of 300,000 LED lights. She explained that this year’s program has been designed for everyone, especially to enjoy with family and friends. «It’s a fair for and by everyone, a meeting point for families and friends. I hope everyone attends and has a great time,» the mayor explained during the opening.

Regarding the attractions, in addition to Children’s Day celebrated yesterday, consideration has been given to people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) as there will be no music from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on all days to reduce noise from the attractions area, as the mayor explained, aiming to make this celebration more inclusive. There will also be a consistent musical theme to reduce acoustic pollution as much as possible.

Yesterday also marked the start of the concert program with Marisol Bizcocho and Álvaro García. They will be followed by José Manuel Soto and Siempre Así, De Cai, and Sergio Contreras tonight (June 27), Juanfra Carrasco, María Terremoto, and Anabel Valencia (June 28), and Fran Ocaña and Los Yakis (June 29). All these musical performances will take place at the municipal booth, and entry is free until full capacity is reached.

To complement the musical performances, live performances by orchestras and cover bands such as Decibelios, Alba Dreid, Ronald, and Los Yeyes, among others, are also planned. There will also be dance performances by the UP dance groups and academies.

One of the most anticipated events of the Las Lagunas Fair is the tribute dinner for the elderly that will be held today at the CEIP María Zambrano. They will be greeted with a welcome cocktail and will be welcomed by the festivities committee and the municipal corporation.

This tribute will begin at 9:00 p.m., and during the dinner, the Grandfather and Grandmother of the 2024 fair will be honored. All seniors who have previously obtained the necessary invitation from the Municipal Department of the Elderly can attend this dinner.

Furthermore, on the 27th and 28th, the venue will have the so-called ‘Purple Point’ under the motto ‘Respect without excuses’.
