The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, has emphasized «the commitment of the City Council to continue facilitating citizens’ access to affordable housing» following the completion of the 73 new publicly promoted properties in Nueva Andalucía. The mayor, who visited the residential complex, explained that «the deeds are already being formalized to hand over the keys to the recipients of the apartments,» located on Miguel de Cervantes Avenue, with half of them allocated to young people and the rest to the general regime with income requirements set by law. Muñoz, who recalled that the draw took place in March of last year, stated that this project «is a clear example of this Government team’s determined commitment to provide our neighbors with a real alternative to access a home and help families continue with a life project in their city.»
In this regard, she detailed that the two-bedroom properties with garage and storage room in this promotion are priced at around 140,000 euros plus VAT, and the three-bedroom ones below 200,000 euros. «In some cases, they also have spacious panoramic terraces,» highlighted the mayor, who also mentioned that young people «also have significant support from the Junta de Andalucía to access the initial 20 percent before signing the mortgage.»
Likewise, the mayor indicated that this project adds to the 70 and 37 homes built in Nueva Andalucía and San Pedro Alcántara in previous terms, as well as other significant projects such as the 25 protected homes in Arroyo Palomeras; the 172 under rental regime in San Pedro Alcántara; the 18 in youth rental in the former headquarters of the Official School of Languages, to be delivered after the summer; and the 84 in Ensanche Sur de San Pedro, currently under construction.
