The final submission of applications must be made from May 15 to 21, at the indoor pools in Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar. The registration fee is 80 euros for the full month and 45 for a fortnight, with a 50% discount for second and subsequent siblings.
The Sports Department of the Vélez-Málaga City Council, in its various areas of action, has given undeniable prominence to the children and young people of our city since the beginning of the legislature, ultimately the seed of future joys in the sports field. Every weekend we can witness an endless array of successes achieved by our youngest citizens, in all kinds of disciplines, with achievements that often reach an international dimension.
The Municipal Area places great importance on the commitment to healthy physical activity for the youngest members of the municipality, and for this purpose, it supports various initiatives aimed at this goal, with numerous projects of training camps in different sports modalities. Among the latest initiatives, the ones that stood out were the camp run by former footballer Duda or the Municipal Sports Games, which bring together a multitude of children and adolescents around athletics and other trends. As summer approaches, the popular Summer Camps 2025 arrive, a large-scale project that brings together a wide representation of minors under the multiple activities orchestrated by the Sports Department, taking place in July and August. This year’s event will offer more than 600 spots.
The councilor of the Area, Manuel Gutiérrez, announced this morning, alongside the coordinator of the Sports Service of EMVIPSA, Antonio Pérez, the start of the pre-registration period from May 5 to 12, 2025, open to those born between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2020. “This is a project we have been working on for months to offer all children who will participate a complete and varied program so they can enjoy a wide range of options in a leisure and fun environment,” summarized the councilor, emphasizing the importance of “laying the foundation of local sports in them, in the youngest ones, because in the future they will bring us joys as significant as the one our wheelchair basketball team, Amivel, gave us a few days ago when they became Eurocup 3 champions. For this, it is essential to sow a solid seed and provide our municipal area with sufficient initiatives to forge the champions of the future, who will carry the name of Vélez-Málaga high beyond our borders”.
