The Board of Trustees of the Andalucía Olympic Foundation has decided to increase the budget of the Andalucía Olympic Plan by 60%, which, in its first call of the new Olympic cycle of Los Angeles 2028, will have a budget of up to €530,000, as established in its first meeting of the year, held at the headquarters of the Cruzcampo Foundation, under the presidency of the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Andalusian Government, Patricia del Pozo.

The highest body of the Andalusian Olympic entity, chaired by Del Pozo, has agreed that Andalusian sports federations can submit the candidacies of athletes, coaches, and clubs aspiring to enter the main program of support for Olympic and Paralympic sports in Andalusia from June 9, with the deadline for this first phase ending on the 30th of the same month.

The Andalucía Olympic Plan 2025 has up to six different categories of awards, to provide better conditions for athletes at the beginning of the 2024-2028 Olympic cycle. Four of these categories are aimed at athletes, from the absolute highest level to the international cadet range, while the other two lines are aimed at coaches and clubs.

The Board has also unanimously approved the annual accounts for the year 2024, of which Patricia del Pozo highlighted «the financial and management balance that characterizes the Andalucía Olympic Foundation», an entity she considers «fundamental» in the Andalusian sports system and in which «the Spanish Olympic Committee, the Spanish Paralympic Committee, and four major private trustees participate, such as the Cruzcampo Foundation, Cajasol Foundation, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, and ONCE.»

During her speech, Del Pozo stated that the agreements made are consolidating the foundations of public-private support for Olympic and Paralympic sports in Andalusia. «We have the challenging and exciting goal of surpassing the limits that Andalusian sports reached in Paris 2024 within three years, where the Olympic Games exceeded historical limits with forty-three participating athletes, six medals, and eleven Olympic diplomas, and public-private collaboration is essential for this, so I encourage more private entities to support our Olympic and Paralympic athletes.»

Finally, the Board has endorsed the management and work carried out by the Andalucía Olympic Foundation in 2024 and highlighted the health of the entity, in which athletes Blanca Manchón Domínguez, José Manuel Ruiz Reyes, and Jairo Ruiz López also participate as trustees, all with extensive experience in Olympic or Paralympic Games.

The Andalucía Olympic Foundation, a public entity under the Ministry of Culture and Sports, also collaborates within the Andalucía Olympic Plan with its institutional partners Diputación de Jaén, Diputación de Sevilla, and the City Council of Dos Hermanas, as well as collaborating municipalities of La Rinconada and Torredelcampo.

With this edition, the Andalucía Olympic Plan now has 28 years of existence, during which it has increased the total number of awards granted since 1998 to 5,098, with an investment in performance sports of €11.59 million, continuously nurturing new sports talents. Athletes like María Pérez, Fátima Gálvez, Alfonso Cabello, Carolina Marín, Marina Alabau, Carmen Herrera, David Valero, Regino Hernández, Lourdes Mohedano, Blanca Manchón, Álvaro Valera, and José Manuel Ruiz began their sports careers as beneficiaries of the Andalucía Olympic Plan.
