The Benalmádena City Council plenary session for the month of May has approved a budget of 350,000 euros to start the processing and provide assistance to local businesses affected by construction works in the municipality. This measure is part of the initiatives of the government of Juan Antonio Lara to support local businesses and mitigate the negative impacts of the works on commercial activity. The aim is to expedite the processing as quickly as possible so that they can go through all the administrative procedures and apply for them as soon as possible.
«The government of Juan Antonio Lara is committed to supporting local commerce and seeks solutions to the problems faced by businesses due to modernization works such as those carried out in areas like Gamonal or Benalmádena Pueblo,» Campos noted.
«These works include the remodeling of sanitation, lighting, and the burial of basic services that had become obsolete and were causing daily problems for residents, even with the supply of drinking water. All these problems will be solved once and for all because the goal is to improve these infrastructures and support local businesses in their day-to-day operations, providing assistance while these necessary works are carried out.»
To be eligible for these subsidies, the bases approved urgently in this plenary session establish that they are aimed at commercial establishments, which must meet certain requirements such as being located in the municipality, specifically on the ground floor and open to the public at the time of the subsidy call, established and registered prior to the date of the call, and up to date with the payment of their tax obligations and social security. The bases exclude banking entities, hotel and vacation accommodation establishments, essential service providers, consulting firms, law firms, food supermarkets with a commercial area of more than 200 square meters, and non-profit entities. Also excluded are establishments that do not have the corresponding commercial license and tax registration.
Now, the City Council will begin all the necessary procedures to launch the call for these subsidies, to which others contemplated in the credit supplement promoted by the government of Juan Antonio Lara in the plenary session will be added.
On another note, said supplement, amounting to 13,076,276.75 euros, includes the future settlement of ongoing or recently completed works, as well as investments of 100,000 euros for the rehabilitation of the Silvestre González center, or the parking lot on Pacharán street.
