The town of Arroyo de la Miel in Benalmádena (Málaga) will experience one of the most anticipated holidays from June 24 to 29: the fair and festivities for San Juan 2025. This program combines tradition, popular culture, and top-notch shows, with a strong commitment to inclusion and citizen participation.
This was announced on Friday during the presentation of the program by the mayor, Juan Antonio Lara, accompanied by the councilor for holidays and folk traditions, Yolanda Peña, who emphasized the importance of these events for the social, cultural, and economic fabric of the municipality.
«San Juan is more than just a celebration: it is identity, history, and coexistence. A deeply rooted tradition that manages to bring together families, youth, seniors, neighbors, and visitors every year to share unique moments,» said Lara.
«We have prepared a diverse program with activities for all audiences and renowned national and international artists. We want everyone to enjoy and experience a safe, inclusive, and joyful fair,» he added.
PROGRAM
On Monday, June 23, the judging of the competitions for floats, streets, popular verbs organized by the Hermandad de Rocío and the Hermandad Redemption will take place. At 10 pm, the official lighting ceremony will be held at Plaza de la Autonomía, followed by the midnight burning of the floats, one of the most anticipated traditions. At dawn, the sky of Benalmádena will light up with a grand pyromusical show at Bil Castle on the coast.
On the main day, June 24, the solemn meal in honor of San Juan Bautista will take place at the Inmaculada Parish at 6:30 pm, followed by the traditional procession through the streets of the center, accompanied by the municipal music band of Benalmádena.
Throughout the six days of the fair, residents and visitors can enjoy performances by great artists at the municipal fairground in Paloma Park: Las Soles (Tuesday 24), Henry Méndez (Wednesday 25), Pitingo (Thursday 26), La Guardia (Friday 27), Don Patricio (Saturday), García and Nia (Saturday), and the closing performance with Álvaro García and Nia (Saturday).
Prior to the main events, you can enjoy performances by Orquesta Kalima (24 and 25), Alboleá (26 and 27), La Esencia (28), and Rompeolas (29), followed by DJ Tony Martín until 3 am. Every night, there will be dance shows at Plaza de la Mezquita.
«I opted for a strong and balanced lineup, featuring music for all generations: from classic Spanish pop to the latest rhythms for the youth,» explained Mayor Yolanda Peña.
«Additionally, we maintain spaces for local talent, with performances by local academies, groups from the municipality, and active participation from our brothers and associations,» she added.
In this edition of the fair, inclusive measures are reinforced, with a specific information point alongside coverage of sign and rest areas adapted for people with functional diversity.
«We want an open and participatory fair, where no one feels excluded. The San Juan fair must be a space for coexistence on equal terms,» said the mayor.
The Fair Conference will take place at Adolfo Suáz Square with live music. On Sunday, June 29, the award ceremony for floats, streets, balconies, rafts, horses, and paellas will be held at the municipal fairground, followed by the closing show. On that day, Children’s Day will also feature affordable attractions.
