The population of Chilches is getting ready to celebrate its Patron Saint Festivities. The residents of this Velez village are preparing to honor their Patron, San José, with a diverse program of events that will kick off with the traditional rociero mass in honor of the patron, at the church of Nuestra Señora Inmaculada Concepción. The event will feature the invaluable musical notes of the «Nuestra Señora del Carmen» choir from Almayate.
Following this, the processional march of San José will take over the streets with a route that will be joined by residents and visitors from the rest of the municipality in a tribute that becomes a focal point of the festivities each year. The itinerary will begin at 12:00 hours after the liturgical celebration. At 13:30, the musical performances will take center stage, featuring the dance academy «Jéssica Domínguez,» who will entertain the midday gathering before the popular paella feast, one of the main attractions with a donation of 2 euros.
In the afternoon, the group «Hakuna Matata» will kick off the events at 16:30, leading up to the final celebration with DJ Nene, all accompanied by ambient music for the enjoyment of all participants.
