The opening night on July 18 will feature the film ‘Gladiator’ (2000), with members of the Centuria Romana de Santiponce and local residents dressed as Romans parading through the streets before arriving at the Teatro Romano. This event aims to recreate the ceremonial processions that once took place in the imperial city, particularly during the reign of Emperor Adriano.
The program, suitable for all ages, offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the atmosphere of ancient Rome and witness the reenactment of historical events. The Consejera de Cultura y Deporte, Patricia del Pozo, emphasizes the significance of connecting with the Italic settlers and experiencing the spirit of celebration from the past.
The film series is divided into five thematic sections, starting with ‘Miradas al pasado’ on July 18 featuring ‘Gladiator’ and ‘El secreto de la pirámide’ on July 19. Subsequent themes include ‘Historias de Oriente’ with ‘Ran’ and ‘El último emperador,’ ‘Aventuras y honor’ with ‘Master & Commander’ and ‘Robin de los bosques,’ ‘Disidentes’ with ‘Ágora’ and ‘Espartaco,’ and ‘Sueños de imperio’ with ‘El Dorado’ and ‘El imperio del Sol.’
