Mijas, July 15, 2025.- The Virgen de la Peña square hosted this weekend the first of the concerts organized by the Tourism Area for this summer, an event that brought together numerous residents and visitors around live music and solidarity. This first proposal featured the participation of prominent Blues bands and allowed the collection of nearly 300 kilos of non-perishable food, which has been delivered to Caritas for distribution among the most needy families.
The Councilor for Tourism, Francisco Jerez, highly valued the celebration of this event, which combined «music, solidarity, and the incomparable setting that Mijas Pueblo offers to continue energizing both tourism and the social and cultural activity of the municipality.»
Live music was the highlight of the day, with the participation of the bands Old South, Bluedays, and Pablo Correa Band, who provided the soundtrack for a night that brought together an enthusiastic audience despite the high temperatures typical of this time of year.
«The concert was a success in terms of participation and organization. We were able to enjoy a special night, with a fantastic atmosphere, where the residents once again showed their solidarity with those most in need. Thanks to this event, nearly 300 kilos of food are now available to Caritas to continue helping families going through difficult times,» emphasized Jerez.
The councilor wanted to emphasize that «these types of activities are essential to continue offering quality proposals to both visitors and year-round residents, keeping alive the essence of Mijas as a welcoming, dynamic, and solidarity-driven municipality; both during the day and at night,» he added.
The Mijas City Council also wanted to thank the collaboration of Caritas and all attendees who made this solidarity action possible, which is part of the summer activities promoted to reinforce the cultural and touristic offer of the municipality during the peak season.
