A forest fire that originated this afternoon from a flaming car on Avenida Juan Carlos I in Vélez-Málaga (Málaga), near the fairground, is now under control as reported by the Forest Fire Service, Plan Infoca.
Around 2:40 pm, a notification warned about the aforementioned flaming vehicle. The fire spread to a nearby grass area, prompting the mobilization of the Provincial Fire Consortium (CPB) from the Vélez County Council and the neighboring municipalities of Rincón de Victoria and Nerja.
The main objective of the firefighters working in the area was to prevent the flames from spreading eastward towards nearby houses.
Additionally, Plan Infoca, which managed the fire control, reports that an environmental agent remains in the area along with a team of forest firefighters until it is fully extinguished.
