From 8:00 p.m., the venue will host concerts, cultural and artistic performances for the delight of residents and visitors.
The councilor of the Historic Center of the City Council of Vélez-Málaga, Juan Fernández Olmo, announced today the celebration of an innovative and unique initiative that will focus on the original neighborhood of La Villa, one of the most characteristic locations in our local geography, which will host a new event integrated into the purpose of the Council to provide all kinds of cultural, musical, and leisure content to our Historic Center and each of its neighborhoods.
The recent inauguration of the «Kiss Corner,» staged in the sculpture by Eduardo Roberto and a new meeting point located in the wall area of the La Villa neighborhood, which reached great popularity at its inauguration, is still fresh in memory. Now, the Cultural Festival La Villa 2025 bursts onto the scene, «another step to turn this space and our different neighborhoods into functional and attractive places for both citizens and visitors,» said Fernández Olmo, highlighting the provision of new facilities and content to our most representative environments as a backbone of tourism in the municipality.
With that vocation comes a new opportunity for residents of Vélez, Axarquía, and other participants from the Malaga geography. The Cultural Festival La Villa 2025 emerges as an interesting meeting point for the different segments of local culture in terms of creativity, with the primary objective of establishing «an activity oriented towards different cultural and artistic expressions in the incomparable landscape of La Villa,» stated the councilor of the Historic Center regarding the main lines undertaken in La Villa and other reference neighborhoods in Vélez-Málaga.
The event will take place in the extraordinary setting of the wall lookout point, on Friday, March 14, starting at 8:00 p.m., and will have the invaluable collaboration of the socio-cultural association La Villa Exists, whose president, Josefina Rey, expressed her enthusiasm for the event projected in the Vélez neighborhood, which will «shine a light on our local artists, such as Luis, a resident of La Villa who I am proud to participate, along with many others, to bring our neighborhood to life.» The association’s representative also wanted to thank «the involvement of the Historic Center Council, as Juan Fernández has supported us and has given his full support, from the beginning, to this initiative.»
Andrea Aranda, creator and organizer of this original festival, together with a fantastic group of citizens with whom we have conceived this idea, has positively assessed «the support shown for the project by councilor Juan Fernández Olmo,» which has enabled «bringing this festival for the first time, which will surprise, to the wonderful setting of La Villa.»
The Cultural Festival La Villa 2025 consists of a multidisciplinary event that combines different artistic representations such as recitals by several poets, readings of micro-stories, staging of micro-theater, performances, and live music. Its purpose is to discover the talent of Vélez artists and revitalize the Historic Center. The municipal representative and members of the local association have called for the participation of residents and visitors, elevating the evening as a «beautiful cultural and artistic encounter in a perfect setting for all attendees to enjoy.»
