The Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue, and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz, highlighted at the presentation of the Memory of the Association of Large Industries (AGI) of Campo de Gibraltar the significant investment of 76.8 million euros by the Andalusian Government for the development of new industrial projects of global scope in the province of Cádiz thanks to the European funds for a just transition, «with five projects aimed at promoting green industry, two of which are exclusive to Campo de Gibraltar and whose application deadline is currently open,» the minister pointed out.
Antonio Sanz emphasized during his speech that «today Andalusia is one of the most attractive regions in Europe for investment, leaving behind the stereotypes that have caused us so much harm, and all this through the Andalusian path of moderation, dialogue, and reforms has turned Andalusia into a land that advances and works.»
In this way, 10.14 million euros have been allocated to promote the circular economy and alternative fuels. «Its purpose is to support projects developed within the value chains of biomass, clean or sustainable fuel production, circular economy, and metal recovery,» explained the minister. This also includes the improvement of the necessary infrastructures to support these initiatives. A project that focuses with particular interest on the municipalities of Algeciras, San Roque, La Línea de la Concepción, and Los Barrios.
On the other hand, 5 million euros have been allocated to strengthen the green hydrogen industrial ecosystem in Campo de Gibraltar. Antonio Sanz clarified that «the goal is to promote this energy sector as a driver of social and territorial cohesion, facilitating the transition, adaptation, and creation of infrastructures and industrial capacities for the consumption of hydrogen as fuel,» while attracting «investment for the implementation of projects and the strengthening of industrial capacity, both as a provider of solutions and as a consumer of hydrogen and its derivatives.»
Antonio Sanz also explained the other three tractor projects destined for the province of Cádiz. Firstly, the one aimed at the innovation of the naval industry with an investment of 15.2 million euros to promote the transition towards a sustainable, climate-neutral, circular, digital, and resource-efficient economy that generates new industrial opportunities and reinforces the auxiliary naval industry throughout the province.
Secondly, the NET ZERO aeronautical Hub in Jerez will have 17.3 million euros for new industries, activities, and certifications, the development of advanced products and materials, and alternative fuel infrastructures such as renewable hydrogen.
And thirdly, the European New Bauhaus in the province of Cádiz, for which 873,512 euros have been allocated with the aim of promoting the development of an industrial ecosystem in the province that generates efficient and sustainable construction solutions.
The first two projects have open windows for submitting applications, while the third will be open shortly.
The minister also highlighted that «integrated incentives and complementary incentives for our entire region also have an impact on this area» with a combined budget of 400 million euros with the idea that our industrial sector advances in competitiveness while also making progress in energy efficiency and promoting tractor projects in the manufacturing industry, aerospace sector, and advanced logistics in the years 2025 and 2026.
Digitalization and economic growth
Antonio Sanz emphasized that «Andalusia has taken steps towards a much more diversified economy in which the technological sector is becoming the third economic engine.» The minister highlighted that this transformation «has digitalization as one of its pillars thanks to the impulse of a digital strategy with a horizon of 2027 in which more than 1,000 million euros are being invested, of which more than 80 percent have already been invested in just three years.»
«No one will be left behind in the digital life in Andalusia, regardless of where they live, their income, or their age,» Antonio Sanz emphasized, while also stating that «the goal is to continue simplifying processes, reducing administrative barriers, streamlining and reducing deadlines, because it is a crucial issue that affects our economy, our society, and, above all, the daily life of companies.»
