The arrival of summer in Vélez-Málaga is just around the corner, and the arrival of good weather conditions invites participation in the multiple events and activities organized by the Velez City Council, through the different Councils. That is why, from the Municipal Transport Delegation, the summer night campaign of the public bus service has already been launched, which will have a wide and diverse schedule distribution to provide coverage to the entire municipal area.
In this regard, the councilor of the Area, Celestino Rivas, appeared this morning before the media to inform about the details of the new urban transport plan for the summer. The Summer Night Service will enable a night urban transport management program to meet the extension of leisure hours by neighbors in their daily routine. «It is essential that we implement a system that provides coverage in a special period such as summer, where, in many cases, our citizens start the holiday period and extend the hours of their daily activities,» Rivas emphasized, highlighting that «the implementation of this Summer Night Service also aims to provide assistance to all those visitors who come to the municipality during these dates», understanding, therefore, «essential» the design of a comprehensive system that provides coverage to the entire population and locations in our local area.
Therefore, the night urban service will be available to residents and visitors in the months of July and August, from 10:30 pm to 2:30 am, with direct and permanent connection between Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar. The night service as such will be active from Tuesday, July 1, and will run until August 31. Regarding the provision of the public service, managed by the awarded company Travelsa, the municipal councilor praised «the great work they do every day in our environment, through which they allow for the transportation throughout our municipal area and facilitate the mobility of citizens in their movement through different locations.»

On the occasion of the celebration of the Night of San Juan, a special night bus service will be available until 2:30 am, as indicated by the Transport councilor, in order to respond to a higher density in urban circulation due to one of the most crowded summer events. Finally, Rivas has called for the collaboration of citizens in the use of an «essential public service in our daily life, but one that requires all of us to contribute to its development in a comfortable, functional, and safe manner.»
