The singer Málaga: the communicator and musician Pablo Alborán expressed his «great happiness» at receiving the Andalusian Arts Medal, which will be awarded on February 28, in celebration of Andalusia Day, in a ceremony at the Teatro en Maestra in Sevilla. «This award fills me with a special joy for my land, for my roots,» he said.

When asked who he remembers at this moment, he assured that «of all the people who believed in me in Málaga, especially in my homeland, when I started singing in my school, when I sang in the shops in Málaga; And from there I went to Sevilla, Córdoba, in Cádiz, I started traveling all over Andalusia with my guitar.»
He recalled that «thanks to the boost of social media, the concerts I gave in the south, I was able to move from Desaperros and start singing from Andalusia.» «I remember all the audience, from the first listeners,» he said. But, of course, he also remembers his family, «which is essential to me and means absolutely everything in my life.»
For Pablo Alborán, singing the Andalusian anthem at the event «is important because many people sing it, because it is an anthem that belongs to everyone,» and he said he will do it «especially with great respect, with a lot of emotion and surprises. Also expected in the performance on Friday.»

Born in Málaga in 1989 and known artistically as Pablo Alborán, he has a long musical career that has earned him national and international recognition and the loyalty of his followers. In fact, his first six albums reached number 1 in Spain.
His beginnings in the music world were very early, as at the age of 12 he started composing songs: «Barrio Amor» and «Descent» and performed at a restaurant in Malaga.
Two years later, at the age of 14, he uploaded his first singing videos on Myspace, although national recognition did not come until the shows he posted on YouTube. His first video has reached over two billion views.
However, fame came with the song «Only You,» a success in both Spain and Latin America, surpassing 180 million views.
Some time later, the artist from Malaga recorded a cover that included the song «Stops Going Crazy» by Diana Navarro, who would later become his musical godmother and sing with him on the second album.
Like Diana Navarro, Catalan singer Sergio Dalma made a strong commitment to Alborán and put him in touch with Warner Music Group to record his first studio album, «Pablo Alborán,» a success from its release and a leader on the sales charts for weeks.
A few months earlier, in October 2010, his first single, «Only You,» continued to sell digitally, leading to a performance by Demi Lovato at the Latin Grammy Gala in late 2011. His second album, «In Acoustic,» was recorded live and acoustic with songs from his first album.

With the following album, «Promoves» (2017), the artist compiled over 40,000 copies sold and topped the charts on iTunes Spain and Spotify Spain, in addition to selling out shows like Starlite.
In 2020, he released his fifth studio album, «Vértigo,» selling 40,000 copies and achieving platinum certification, as well as reaching eighth place on Spotify during its release week. His latest album to date, «The Fourth Leaf» (2022), born after the Covid pandemic, is a work that «celebrates the present» and always leaves «a door open.»
Certified as a gold album, it debuted globally in ninth place on Spotify and 18th in Spain during its release week. Among the main accolades of his career, Pablo Alborán has received 24 nominations for the Latin Grammy Awards and has sold over a million copies of his first three albums.
He was the top-selling artist in Portugal and Spain and earned 30 platinum albums in Europe, two gold records in the United States, and one in Portugal. Additionally, he remained at number one in sales for 36 weeks in Portugal and 60 weeks in Spain. His discography is complemented by a Goya award obtained in 2016 for the best original song for «Palmeras en la nieve.» He has collaborated with singers such as Alejandro Sanz, Víctore Manuel, María Dolores Pradera, Miguel Bosé, Jorge Drexler, and Baby.
