The Andalusian Center of Photography (CAF), a space under the Ministry of Culture and Sports, has presented the absolute premiere of ‘Available Space’ at its headquarters in Almería, the new work by photographer Eduardo Nave (Valencia, 1976). This exhibition is organized by the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions in collaboration with the Centro José Guerrero, belonging to the Granada Provincial Council, showcasing the advertising ruins of the analog era and the obsolescence of traditional and static advertising.
The exhibition consists of 79 photographs of abandoned billboards, offering a reflection on advertising that now circulates through electronic devices and the virtuality of the internet. This proposal, on display at CAF until June 15, is complemented by other works on paper using the original remains of advertising signs and an audiovisual creation by Eduardo Nave and David Linuesa. The exhibition showcases «the ruins of advertising modernity,» as analyzed by philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky in an unpublished text written specifically for this exhibition. Lipovetsky is one of the most influential contemporary thinkers in the analysis of consumer society and new media behaviors.
During the presentation, Eduardo Nave stated, «The idea was to document these skeletons of a glorious past and bid farewell to a form of communication. Creating a record of this ‘trashiness’ that deteriorates year after year, contaminating the environment and visual landscape.»

With this new co-production that offers the viewer a physical and sensory experience through the detritus of advertising, CAF proclaims its strong support for new creation and authors who, like Eduardo Nave, lead the presence of Spanish creative photography on the international scene,» commented Juan María Rodríguez, the director of this institution.
‘Available Space’ is the fourth co-production presented by CAF in less than a year. On this occasion, the project is jointly promoted with the Centro José Guerrero of the Granada Provincial Council. Both institutions also participate in the editing of the exhibition book/catalog.
Eduardo Nave
Eduardo Nave (Valencia, 1976) holds a Higher Technician degree in Plastic Arts and Design in Photography from the Escola d’Art I Superior de Disseny de Valencia. In 2005, he founded, along with 13 other artists, the contemporary photography collective NOPHOTO, which received the Arco and Revelation PhotoEspaña 06 awards a year later.
Since 2001, he has been a regular collaborator for national and international editorial media, represented by the Daniel Cuevas Gallery (Madrid) and the Juan Silió Gallery (Santander). He has received several awards such as the Imagenera for Documentary Creation on Andalusia 2023 and the ENATE Art Prize 2023/24, among others. Throughout his career, he has participated in collective and solo exhibitions including ‘Encuentros Internacionales de Fotografía de Arles’ (France), Macuf (A Coruña), Instituto Cervantes (Paris), or PhotoEspaña (Madrid).
His work is part of collections in institutions such as the Ministry of Culture, the city councils of Alcobendas, Madrid, Valencia, Murcia, or Tenerife, the Ordóñez Falcó Foundation, the Cartier-Bresson Family, the Congress of Deputies, the Ministry of Industry, National Heritage of Spain, France, Italy, and Portugal, the Marcelino Botín Foundation, the Dos de Mayo Art Center, the Circa XX Collection, and DKV.
