One of the most charming summer celebrations in Velez-Malaga, the San Juan de Triana Fair, will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with musical events, children’s entertainment, and a multitude of activities, highlighting the Elderly Dinner and the stellar performances of Marisol Bizcocho and Rafa Garcel.
The residents of Triana are eagerly awaiting one of their favorite celebrations on the annual calendar of festivities. The population belonging to Velez-Malaga is preparing for a new edition of the Fair in honor of San Juan, a significant event of conviviality and fun in which both the citizens and the visitors who participate every year will once again demonstrate the undeniable involvement that exists in this district in every event that takes place, ensuring the success of participation, largely thanks to the work carried out by the group of stewards, who have designed a schedule full of events for the occasion, with coordinated efforts between the festival committee, the Deputy Mayor’s Office, and the Department of Popular Traditions. The event was presented by the Deputy Mayor of Triana, Lourdes Piña, and the representative of the group of stewards, Eli Alarcón.
The streets of Triana will once again experience days of excitement and experiences in their traditional celebration, which will take place from Friday, June 20 to Sunday, June 22 in a weekend of splendor for all the residents of the nucleus, who each year fully engage in this highlighted event. «Every year we work in advance so that the residents of Triana and all the neighbors who come from the rest of the municipality can enjoy a good number of activities, savoring very important celebrations for them,» emphasized Lourdes Piña, highlighting the involvement of the group of stewards, who carry out «an impressive job» to ensure that everything is in perfect condition. «Their role is essential, they are the true responsible for making the fair weekend in Triana an authentic example of organization, passion, and entertainment for all attendees.» Likewise, the municipal councilor has praised «the good work of our operational services,» along with the work of the Local Police and Civil Protection, «all essential for holding celebrations for all ages and with all necessary safety standards.»
Stellar Program
Orchestras, DJs, animations, and special dinners will fill a lineup of absolute guarantees, sprinkled with numerous surprises in an ambitious plan of activities where special mention is made of the Elderly Dinner and the election of the Mister and Miss Elderly, an event of great significance and response among the neighbors. It will take place on Sunday, June 22 at 9:00 p.m.
The start of the festivities on Friday, June 20, will include the election of Miss and Mister, followed by performances by Zayas Cover Band, featuring hits from the 80s and 90s, the orchestra «La Musical», DJ David Tovar, and «La Musical». The central day of the fair, Saturday, June 21, will host entertainment for the youngest attendees. The evening will once again be dominated by music, with the presence of the artist Marisol Bizcocho.
On Sunday, the closing of the festival, there will be a children’s drawing contest at the Trianero Café Theater, followed by the award ceremony. The grand finale will be the Elderly Dinner, preceding the stellar performance of Rafa Garcel. «We will all enjoy a few days of celebration, joy, and great moments together.
