La Cala de Mijas prepares its fair with a complete program of activities for all audiences

- The festivities will kick off on the 22nd at 10:30 pm at the La Cala fairground
- Nacha Pop, Rasel, Manuel Orta, and Paco Candela, among others, will provide music for the event
Mijas, July 11, 2025.- The La Cala de Mijas Fair is about to begin, running from July 22 to 27 this year. These festivities, one of the most anticipated of the summer, already have a poster and program, as tonight the prelude was carried out by Paco Lozano, a resident of La Cala.
The mayor, Ana Mata, explained that this fair has a very special program that caters to everyone from the youngest to the oldest. Concerts, daytime fair, children’s activities… the program is very extensive and has been gradually revealed by the mayor. «The La Cala Fair is one of the must-see events of the Mijas summer. We work tirelessly to offer proposals for all types of audiences, thanks to the effort of municipal workers,» she explained.
On the first day, the Tribute to the Elderly dinner will be held from 9:00 pm. This is an event where around 300 people from this seaside nucleus gather, and during the event, the Grandfather and Grandmother of the Fair are chosen. Right after, a concert by Manuel Orta is scheduled.
That same day at 10:30 pm, the traditional artistic lighting ceremony will take place, carried out by the mayor alongside the fair’s grandparents. It will also be Children’s Day, so the attractions will have a reduced price. Thinking of people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), the noise of the attractions will be reduced every day from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, with the same musical theme to minimize acoustic pollution as much as possible.
On the 23rd, the traditional election of the king and queen of the festivities will take place, judged by a jury. To liven up the day, there is a performance planned by the group El Tren de los Sueños. On the 24th, concerts will be the main focus, with a tribute to Alejandro Sanz and a performance by the well-known group Nacha Pop.
On the 25th, the Day Fair will open its doors at 2:00 pm in the Torreón de La Cala area, and that same evening, two concerts are scheduled; one by María Ruiz and the other by Javi Medina. On the 26th, it will be Rasel’s turn with the ‘La Loka on Tour’ show, and Paco Candela will close the scheduled concert agenda on the 27th.
During July 25 and 26, there will be a Purple Point at the fairground under the motto ‘Respect without excuses’.
