La Consejería de Desarrollo Educativo y Formación Profesional opens the deadline from June 15th to June 30th for applying for a spot in one of the training cycles and specialization courses offered in Andalusia for the upcoming academic year. The management of applications is done through a single district that allows for centralized allocation of spots, based on the priorities indicated by the applicants on the form. The process can be completed entirely online through the Virtual Secretary of the Council.
To guide Andalusian students in the application process, the Council has implemented a tool developed with Artificial Intelligence, optional for use, that provides applicants with a real-time estimation of their chances of obtaining a spot in the desired training cycle and center, categorized as very high, high, medium, low, or very low.
The system has been trained with data from the admission processes of the last five years, allowing the algorithm to calculate probabilities with high accuracy. Over 48,000 applicants used this service in the 2024 admission process.
This tool, developed as part of a project co-financed with FEDER funds from the 2021-27 framework, is available within the Virtual Secretary when filling out the admission request for medium and higher training cycles and only for applicants registered in the Andalusian Education Management System.
New training offer
For the 2025/26 academic year, the Council has offered a total of 168,447 new entry spots for Vocational Training sustained with public funds, of which 1,460 are newly created. This increase consolidates the efforts of the Andalusian Government, which has created 47,552 new spots in the last six years, representing a growth of nearly 40% compared to 2018.
Additionally, the upcoming academic year will have a total of 3,773 training cycles and specialization courses, a 31% increase compared to 2018, with a wide range of different qualifications reaching 197 out of the total of 222 in the national catalog, that is, 87%. Innovative training cycles have been incorporated in traditional and emerging sectors, with special attention to rural areas.
The Council has reorganized the offer to better meet market needs, as 20% of spots remained vacant in the current academic year, even in cycles with high employability. Thus, for a more efficient planning, an analysis of the situation has been carried out to advance more in terms of quality of the offer rather than quantity. For this purpose, an offer with 81 actions has been designed, including 39 new training cycles and specialization courses; 8 group increases in high-demand cycles and courses; 11 increases in the level of training cycles, substituting basic level offers for medium or medium level offers for higher, and 13 adaptations of cycle offers to the productive sector, focusing on more competitive cycles instead of those with low demand or low employability.
As a novelty, six new educations will be implemented for the first time in Andalusia, a Medium Grade in Ceramic Products Manufacturing in Macael (Almería) and five Specialization Courses, one of them being a Medium Grade (Floristry and Floral Art in Córdoba) and four being Specialization Courses of Higher Grade: E-Commerce (Málaga); Collaborative Robotics, in Martos (Jaén) and Málaga; Development of Applications in Python Language, to be implemented in Almería, Córdoba, Málaga, Seville, and Granada, as well as the Specialization Course of Higher Grade in Technical Inspection and Claims Assessment in Vehicles, which can be taken in centers in Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, and Torremolinos (Málaga).
The Council continues its commitment to renewable energies and the promotion of teachings related to green hydrogen, with new Medium Grade cycles in Networks and Water Treatment Stations in Palma del Río (Córdoba) and Huércal-Overa (Almería), Higher Grade cycles in Renewable Energies in Herrera (Seville) and Jódar (Jaén), as well as the Higher Grade in Industrial Chemistry in Mengíbar, Jaén.
Emphasis has been placed on teachings linked to emerging productive sectors with higher employability, with a special focus on digital transformation and transportation and logistics. In this regard, the following stand out: Specialization Course of Higher Grade in Remotely Piloted Aircraft-Drones (La Rinconada, Seville); Medium Grade in Electromechanical Maintenance in San Roque (Cádiz) and Palos de la Frontera (Huelva) or the Specialization Course of Higher Grade in Cybersecurity in Operating Technologies Environments in Huelva city.
The new offer also promotes traditional sectors that represent an important economic and cultural heritage for Andalusia, such as the Medium Grade in Olive Oil and Wines in Olvera (Cádiz), the Medium Grade in Agricultural Production in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) or the Higher Grade in Landscaping and Rural Environment in Estepa (Seville).
Regarding the dualization process of Vocational Training in Andalusia, over 85,500 agreements have already been signed with 36,500 companies from all sectors and provinces. This effort is already reflected in a reduction in school dropout rates, youth unemployment, and historical lows in the rate of young people neither studying nor working.
Single district
In the complete offer applications, applicants must indicate the cycles and centers they are applying for, ranked according to their preferences. A computerized process scores the applications, automatically assigning the spots. It is a procedure with two allocations for basic, medium, and higher grades, allocations that will take place on July 10th and 21st. After each allocation, a registration period opens. Once the second allocation is finished, the entire complete offer procedure will operate exclusively with waiting lists, where out-of-deadline requests/applications can be included behind any request submitted on time.
Also, from June 15th to June 30th, is the deadline to apply for all modular FP teachings, whether in-person, semi-in-person, or virtual. In these types of offer applications, applicants must indicate the professional modules they are applying for, up to a maximum of 1,000 hours. A single allocation will take place on July 17th, with a registration period from July 18th to 23rd, and then the spots will be distributed by waiting list.
Regarding the percentage of spots available for those who want to continue their professional itinerary, 40% will be reserved for students coming from a medium grade for higher grades, while for those from High School, the percentage is 45%. This ensures more spots for students already studying Vocational Training to have a complete itinerary.
