La Húngara y Óscar El Ruso, platos fuertes de la Feria de Benajarafe

With the arrival of July, Benajarafe is getting ready to once again experience its traditional and highly anticipated Fair in honor of Our Lady of Carmen. Residents and visitors will enjoy, from July 17th to 20th, a varied and extensive celebration, designed for all audiences and featuring high-caliber performances, highlighting ‘La Húngara’, an artist with excellent provincial and national recognition, who has been and continues to be a synonym of spectacle and full house wherever she goes, and ‘Óscar El Ruso’, a rising talent followed by the younger crowd.

The activities have been organized by the Deputy Mayor’s Office and the Department of Popular Traditions, in collaboration with the mayors of Benajarafe, in an excellent coordinated effort to ensure, once again, the accustomed success of participation and to guarantee the fun, conviviality, and enjoyment of the attendees.

This morning, the deputy mayor of Benajarafe and Chilches, Rocío Ruiz, along with the councilor of Popular Traditions, Lourdes Piña, have provided details surrounding these festivities. «The most special week of Benajarafe has arrived, where we celebrate the traditional Fair in honor of Our Lady of Carmen. It is undoubtedly a marked event in the calendar of our residents. These festivities are the icing on the cake for the locality, the highlight of an extensive and well-thought-out summer program that the City Council has devised for the entire municipality,» valued Ruiz.

«From the Deputy Mayor’s Office and the Department of Popular Traditions, we have carefully organized a program of activities for all audiences. Residents and visitors will enjoy great performances, top artist tributes, and activities to make it a grand weekend. It is also worth mentioning the excellent work carried out by the mayors to achieve a top-notch program. Thanks to the joint effort, the Fair in honor of Our Lady of Carmen has become a very special event for all residents and visitors,» expressed the deputy mayor of Benajarafe and Chilches, Rocío Ruiz.

On the other hand, the councilor of Popular Traditions, Lourdes Piña, has mentioned the importance «of working in advance so that the community can enjoy a few days of celebration and fun. It is a weekend where great memories will be made.» According to the councilor, the program is meticulously planned and balanced so that there is not just a great day, but three great days of celebration. Thus, Piña added that «musical genres have been taken into account, opting for variety to satisfy all audiences, young and old.»

A weekend full of performances

The Fair will kick off on Wednesday, July 16th, with the traditional Procession in honor of the Virgin of Carmen. The following day will celebrate Children’s Day and the Elderly Dinner, a day of conviviality and enjoyment for both the young and the old.

On Friday, the Pregón will be given by Miguel Ángel Sánchez Mena. Subsequently, the Miss and Mister of the festivities will be chosen. Following this, the most anticipated performance will take place: ‘La Húngara’, Sonia María Priego (real name), will get the attendees dancing with her boldness and great stage presence. Finally, Dj Nene will be in charge of closing out the first great night.

The rhythm will not falter on Saturday, before the concerts, the new jerseys of CF Torremoya will be presented. At around 23:00, a Tribute to Manuel Carrasco will take place, a moment of remembrance for fans of the singer and songwriter. After this, it will be Óscar El Ruso’s turn, an artist with a large following among the younger crowd. Thus, ‘From North to South’ and Dj Nene will bring an end to a very varied Saturday.

On the last day of the fair, Sunday, at night a Tribute to Estopa will be performed, an artist of great recognition in the national and global scene. Afterwards, Los electroduendes will keep the party going, and the day will close with ambient music.

Every day, from 20:30 to 21:30, a noise-free hour has been scheduled, taking into account children with high sensitivity to noise, a decisive factor also valued by the organization. «We can see the large number of activities and variety that the Deputy Mayor’s Office and the Department of Popular Traditions have organized for the festivities, putting all their care and intention into programming several days of conviviality, music, and many surprises,» Lourdes Piña concluded.
