The City Council and the Junta de Andalucía have today inaugurated a new Tourist Office in Puerto Banús, which will offer an intelligent and connected system to improve visitor attention and continue consolidating the city as an international reference destination. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, who visited the facility with the Tourism Councilor of the regional government, Arturo Bernal, emphasized that «this equipment reinforces our commitment to a modern, innovative city adapted to the current challenges of the sector.»
Muñoz pointed out that «the opening of this facility not only allows us to be closer to tourists in one of the most emblematic locations in the city, such as Puerto Banús, but also enhances the quality of service thanks to digitization and personalized accessible attention.» She also thanked the regional government for their support and noted that «this office is not just a new information point, but a cutting-edge tool that represents Marbella’s clear commitment to high-quality tourism, connected and adapted to the new demands of visitors.» In this sense, she highlighted that «today we present a solution that will combine human attention and advanced technology, with a multilingual virtual assistant that offers personalized tours in up to 95 languages.»
She also explained that this module is part of a municipal tourist service digitization plan that includes implementing the same technology on the Marbella Promenade, Los Naranjos Square, and San Pedro Alcántara. «We will thus become the first destination in Andalucía with a network of intelligent and connected offices,» she added. Furthermore, she recalled that the initiative is part of the Big Cities Plan, co-financed 50% by both administrations, with a total investment of 10 million euros. «Thanks to this program, we not only improve tourist attention, but also modernize our facilities and bet on a more accessible, innovative, and sustainable city,» she pointed out.
On his part, Bernal, who reiterated that «Marbella is the mirror to look at,» specified that 135,000 euros were allocated for the project and added that «it is not just a point of attention, but part of an intelligent destination management system, focused on data, efficiency, and user experience,» recalling that it is part of the 16 initiatives included in the plan, responding to different strategic lines. «All with a very clear focus: to seasonally adjust, diversify, and regenerate,» emphasized the councilor, defending tourism beyond sun and beach, focused on culture, sports, technology, or gastronomy while caring for and respecting the environment.
