«La piel de la pintura»: nueva exposición de Begoña Martín en el CAC de Vélez-Málaga.

The bet of the Department of Culture for our local and regional artists continues its path, seeking to project their art and the municipality beyond our territory. This commitment is once again evident with the presentation of a new exhibition at the Contemporary Art Center (CAC) «Francisco Hernández», which will host the collection of 15 paintings by this local author from today, May 16, until August 10, 2025.

Under the title «The skin of painting», the author from Vélez designs through a very intimate and personal style a journey through the nature of her creations, focused on «dead» environments or the concept of social consciousness, all under the shelter of a fine and precise stroke in the application of texture and color.

The Contemporary Art Center (CAC) of Vélez-Málaga continues with a prominent program of exhibitions and activities available to the residents and visitors of the municipality. From the Department of Culture and Heritage of the City Council, there is a strong commitment to providing innovative content aimed at promoting the artists from our land. This promotional line brings Begoña Martín to the CAC, in an interesting introspection of her art dissected in «The skin of painting.»

The Councilor of Culture, Alicia Ramírez, and the author presented this morning a sample at the CAC «that bets, once again, on local art,» the councilor claimed. In this case, it is 15 pictorial works, made in oil on canvas, a compilation of the last years of Begoña Martín’s work, where you can see the essential themes of her ideology: still life or «dead» nature, social consciousness with marked realism, and a very detailed detail in each stroke, with a texture and color applied with magnificent precision.

Begoña Martín, who studied at the School of Art of San Telmo, has expressed that the objective of her work is to «show the most everyday reality, to find myself through painting, in the themes of the environment that surrounds me.» Everyday objects and landscapes succeed in the collection unveiled at the Vélez CAC, under the denominator «The skin of painting.»

«Our commitment to local artists and the promotion of their work is total and resolute,» explained Alicia Ramírez, an involvement that is evident with the presentation of Martín’s exhibition, as well as other collections present in the complex of artists such as Alberto Tarsicio or Rafael Heredia. «It is essential that we support those who give diffusion and impact to our municipality, they are references of our land and we must stand by them,» concluded the municipal delegate.
