The Department of the Environment has responded to a problem that has been brought to light by users, incorporating three picnic tables and six mulberry tree specimens into this recreational area, an ideal species for creating shaded areas during periods of high temperatures. These works are another example of the commitment of the Delegation to address the requests of the local residents.
The deputy mayor of Cajiz, Jesús María Claros, has announced this morning the completion of several actions in the recreational area of Cajiz, a space frequented by users that required intervention in its conditioning. In this case, the Department of the Environment has proceeded to install three picnic tables and six new mulberry tree specimens in the recreational environment, improvements that enhance and beautify the conservation of this location, a place where the renowned Paso de Cajiz is usually celebrated.
The municipal councilor has emphasized a package of improvements «that were necessary to provide this location with the equipment required for the use and enjoyment of our neighbors,» thus resolving «another demand that is regularly made to us and that we attend to with the utmost care, in order to present green areas and perfectly conditioned infrastructures for a functional use of the same.»
The recreational area of Cajiz is located in the middle of nature, close to the population and with a fully paved access to the site, although the mentioned actions constitute «improvements in furniture provision so that users can rest and enjoy the space,» as emphasized by Claros, who has also commented on the second action, the planting of six mulberry tree specimens of the species «Morus alba fruitless variety,» commonly known as mulberry, a deciduous variety «ideal for recreational use of the place, providing shade during the hot season and allowing sunlight in winter periods.»
Drainage for water savings
Finally, the councilor has mentioned the installation of a drainage pipe around the root ball of each specimen, which represents a clear improvement in water efficiency, delivering irrigation directly to the root area for a more sustainable use of water, minimizing losses through evaporation. «It is gratifying to have been able to solve a problem that users and neighbors have been requesting for some time, from now on they will have these new features to make proper and comfortable use of the facilities,» concluded the councilor and deputy mayor.
