Málaga lidera misión comercial con compradores del Reino Unido

Seventeen agro companies announced more than a hundred products to four British buyers

The Provincial Council in Malaga, through its Aroma de Málaga brand, promoted a commercial mission with buyers in the United Kingdom in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce. Seventeen agro food companies linked to the promotional labels of the institution had the opportunity to present over a hundred references to four recognized British food exporting and distributing companies.

It was a reverse commercial mission (foreign buyers visiting companies in the province) that followed on from the commercial mission last June, where seven companies with Aroma de Malaga traveled to London to showcase their products in supermarkets, importers, hotels, and restaurants in the UK.

The British companies that visited Malaga include ultra-eromida, an importer and distributor of Spanish products in the UK with two stores and two restaurants in Wales and a national online store; Enotria & Coe, an importer and distributor of wines and spirits based in London with a national distribution center supplying restaurants, hotels, and retailers nationwide.

In addition, Harvey & Brookles, a producer and distributor of specialized foods based in London with various distribution centers across the country, serving a wide range of clients from small stores to restaurants and food producers; and Mevalco, an importer and distributor of Spanish foods based in Bristol with a distribution center supplying top chefs and restaurants nationwide.

Malaga manufacturers in sectors such as extra virgin olive oil, goat cheese, wines from Malaga and Sierras de Malaga, olives, canned goods, nuts, jams, preserves, spices, fish, and fresh vegetables took part in the meeting.

Specifically, Almazares Finca in Torre, 100 tuberías, Aove Gold al-Andalus, Bravolar y Málaga, as well as Olives y Murat Vitj; Pastor de quesos torcal and agaminasur; Bodegas Doña Felisa and DiMobe; and companies Turbojam, Green Grinding, Frumaco, Borgeña, Román y Martos Food, Sigfrido y Trafrut Cano.

The commercial mission began on Wednesday at the Chamber of Commerce facilities in Malaga, with the presentation of the various participating companies in an exhibition area to showcase their products and continued today with foreign buyers visiting the facilities of the participating companies.

The President of the Provincial Council of Malaga, Francisco Salado, emphasized that «these types of initiatives promote new market niches for our local companies, which have managed to overcome the challenges of export and growth, leading to other high-quality products.»

Additionally, the president recalled that, thanks to the agreement signed between the Provincial Council of Malaga and the Chamber of Commerce, activities to promote the internationalization of Malaga companies in the agri-food sector and fashion industry have continued to develop and expand.

Therefore, in January, 60 companies in the province participated in five free preparations for internationalization strategies designed to advise, train, and guide participating companies and entrepreneurs on their real opportunities for foreign growth and provide them with tools for their projection.

After these days of training, five agro companies were selected to join the Malaga Export Center for a period of one year, and another five will receive personalized advice for three months to prepare their internationalization plans. An agreement that will conclude with a direct promotional action of seven companies in Colombia.
