Marbella has welcomed around 182,000 visitors in the first four months of the year and has seen a 10% increase in employed personnel and a 3% boost in hotel profitability compared to the same period in 2024, according to data provided by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The director general of the sector, Laura de Arce, noted that «it is a very positive evolution, indicating a recovery and sustained growth in the tourism sector in the municipality,» and specified that «occupancy also follows this trend» with a total of 58.02% in these first four months. Regarding the labor sector, she specified that «the path continues to rise» with an average figure from January to April of 3,020 workers compared to 2,749 from the previous year.
In terms of profitability, she indicated that the RevPar (revenue per occupied room) «has shown a similar performance in this period,» with an average of 94.60 euros, representing a 3% increase compared to the same four-month period in 2024. The average price also continues to rise with a total of 162.43 euros, resulting in an 8% percentage growth. De Arce advanced that «expectations for May and June improve results, mainly due to the celebration of sports events and scheduled professional meetings and activities, both in different hotel establishments and in the Adolfo Suárez Congress Palace.»
Finally, the municipal representative has detailed the occupancy rates by month, stating that in January it reached 46.73%, with over 30,189 tourists staying in hotel establishments and 88,602 overnight stays; in February, it was historically the highest for this month, with 40,220 visitors and 103,218 overnight stays; in March, it increased to 55.69%, with 50,220 travelers and 153,582 overnight stays, and in April, it rose to 68.55%, with 61,346 tourists, 227,793 overnight stays, and an average stay of 3.71 nights per person, the highest in the last ten years for this period. «The indicators are excellent for the sector and forecast a fantastic high season in our locality,» she stated.
