Mijas, July 15, 2025 – The Mijas City Council has activated a comprehensive special deployment to ensure security during the La Cala Fair, reinforcing the presence of personnel and providing maximum peace of mind to residents and visitors. Local Police, Civil Protection, and Firefighters are joining forces to ensure security and the smooth running of the events.

As for the Local Police, the deployment will involve around a hundred officers throughout the fair, assigned to different services during the entire event, reinforcing the municipality’s usual service. During the evenings, the operation will have police presence from 7:00 pm to around 6:00 am. During the daytime fair, officers will be operational from 12:00 pm until the end of each day. This reinforcement will ensure a swift and effective response to any incidents that may arise.

On their part, the Mijas Firefighters will have a fixed staff and a truck throughout the fair, allowing them to respond quickly to any emergencies. They are also responsible for verifying and supervising the facilities to ensure that booths, attractions, and other structures comply with the safety measures required by regulations.

The Civil Protection Group will once again play an essential role in this deployment, actively collaborating in prevention and assistance tasks. Additionally, they are offering families the well-known identification bracelets for minors and vulnerable individuals, facilitating their location in case of loss. These bracelets, available at the Civil Protection booth, include a contact number to quickly notify their companions.

The Councilor for Firefighters and Civil Protection, Francisco Jerez, emphasized the commitment of all the services involved to ensure that the fair proceeds normally and with total security:

“We are working to make the fair a safe space so that families can enjoy without worries. Initiatives like the Civil Protection bracelets are an example of the preventive work and direct attention that we provide to the residents,” he stated.

He also wanted to acknowledge the coordination of all the security forces involved: “I want to expressly thank the work of the Local Police, the Firefighters, Civil Protection, and also the Civil Guard, whose presence is essential to reinforce public safety and ensure that everything runs smoothly without incidents.”

Francisco Jerez emphasized that “the deployment we have prepared is designed to prevent any situation that could disrupt the normal development of the fair and offer residents and visitors the peace of mind they deserve on such significant days.”

The Mijas City Council reminds the importance of following the instructions of the security forces at all times and appreciates the involvement of all professionals and volunteers who make it possible for the La Cala Fair to be experienced safely.
