Mijas, April 3, 2025.- Good news for Mijas from a tourism perspective: the month of March has ended with a hotel occupancy of 63.52%, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.38%, according to the Hotel Entrepreneurs Association of the Costa del Sol (AEHCOS).

Even though last year in March, despite the celebration of Easter, an occupancy of 58.14% was recorded, the municipality continues to show good tourism occupancy data. This figure has been highly praised by the mayor, Ana Mata, who has emphasized the work carried out by the sector to keep Mijas as a tourist reference.

«The month of March has been very rainy and yet the data is very positive, as they are better than in 2024. This demonstrates that Mijas is a leading municipality, consolidating itself as a reference thanks to the work carried out by all those involved in tourism,» explained the mayor.

On the other hand, Juan Miguel Marcos, vice president of AEHCOS in Mijas, has anticipated the forecasts for the month of April, which increase in a very striking way to 80.55%. «We hope to have a good Easter and we are very prepared to face the arrival of tourists in this key time of the year,» he stated.

Regarding the Tourist Offices located in Mijas Pueblo and La Cala, during this month they received information from 13,568 people, highlighting those from Spanish, British, and Canadian origins.
