The international energy company Moeve has joined the first Andalusian Pact for Conciliation and Co-responsibility promoted by the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality with the aim of promoting a «cultural change» in all sectors of society regarding the distribution of tasks and care responsibilities. Minister Loles López and the Director of Human Resources at Moeve’s Energy Parks, Jesús García Arieta, have signed this agreement in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva) to pursue real and effective equality.

The Andalusian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP), the Andalusian Confederation of Entrepreneurs (CEA), the Association of Autonomous Workers (ATA) Andalusia, public universities in Andalusia, and Sevilla FC have already joined this pact. The Andalusian government is allocating 44 million euros to implement 55 actions across all departments.

López emphasized that «Moeve, a company committed to Huelva, mobility, and sustainable energy, is the first major company to join this pact» and thanked their participation, describing it as an «honour» and expressing confidence that they will serve as «an example for other Andalusian companies.» She also noted that this signing is particularly significant given that the industrial sector is heavily male-dominated.

She also stressed that «without conciliation and co-responsibility, there is no real equality», explaining that «the goal of this pact is to promote a cultural shift so that in the future, boys and girls understand that caregiving and tasks should be shared by both members of a couple. Conciliation is not just a women’s issue; it involves men and women from all of society.»

On the other hand, the Director of Human Resources at Moeve’s Energy Parks stated that «at Moeve, we are committed to creating a work environment that promotes a balance between the personal and professional lives of our employees. Joining the Andalusian Pact for Conciliation and Co-responsibility is a significant step in our mission to promote gender equality and the well-being of our employees. We firmly believe that promoting conciliation policies improves the quality of life, productivity, and overall well-being of our workers. We are proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to actively contributing to its success alongside the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality.»

The Mayor of Palos de la Frontera, Milagros Romero, praised Moeve for being the first company to join the Andalusian Pact for Conciliation and Co-responsibility, noting that they will continue to set an example in terms of conciliation as they have done in other areas. She also highlighted that for many years at Moeve, «women have had the opportunity to develop professionally» and thanked them for their willingness to participate in projects and activities related to equality, youth, and other groups in need.

Actions for equality

Moeve, committed to the well-being of its employees, has been working for years on innovative policies to facilitate a balance between work and personal life. These measures include flexible working hours, teleworking options, and well-being programs that promote physical and mental health. With these initiatives, Moeve aims not only to increase the satisfaction and productivity of its team but also to establish a more inclusive and sustainable work environment.

This business group has a total workforce of 11,090 employees, of which over 39% are women. Furthermore, 31% of leadership positions are already held by women. The company stands out for its generational diversity, with five generations represented and an average age of 45 years. Additionally, 1.83% of its workforce consists of people with disabilities. Moeve has been awarded the ISO 30415 Diversity and Inclusion certification by AENOR, making it the first company in the Spanish energy sector to receive this recognition. This achievement underscores its commitment to creating an inclusive and diverse environment, ensuring opportunities for all individuals.

The signing event was also attended by the Director of the La Rábida Energy Park, Jorge Acitores, the Director of the Andalusian Women’s Institute, Olga Carrión, the territorial delegate for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality in Huelva, José Manuel Borrero, the territorial delegate for Economy, Finance, European Funds, Industry, Energy, and Mines in Huelva, Lucía Núñez, and the provincial coordinator of the Andalusian Women’s Institute, Laura Sánchez. Following the signing at the Energy Park Moeve La Rábida headquarters, the minister held a discussion with the women responsible for volunteering and diversity, among other areas.
