The President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, received the Copa del Rey de Fútbol from Jesús Navas and Joaquín Sánchez at the San Telmo Palace, where it will be on display and open to the public until next Saturday.
In addition, Moreno inaugurated the exhibition ‘The Kings of the Cup’ at San Telmo to bring citizens even closer to the history, emotions, and protagonists of this competition.
In this way, he stated that the Copa del Rey represents much more than just a victory because, as he said, «it is emotion, surprise, heroism, and also celebration like that experienced in towns and small cities whose teams welcome the most legendary clubs in Spain.» «Seville and Andalucía are the best places to dream. That’s why I can’t think of a better land than this to put the finishing touch on this unique competition and give it even more luster, projection, and legend.»
At this point, he thanked the Spanish Football Federation for looking south and always maximizing the many great events it has been a part of.
The Andalusian President noted that the final to be played this Saturday will be the most mythical showdown in world football between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, as they together have won over 50 Copa del Rey titles. «The most anticipated match, and one that all countries wish to host, will be in Seville as the culmination of the great Spanish football celebration.»

Regarding this matter, he emphasized that after the improvements made, this stadium hosts this final as newer, more modern, and up to the standards of the greatest events of all kinds.
Jesús Navas and Joaquín Sánchez, former footballers of Sevilla FC and Real Betis Balompié, respectively, carry the Copa del Rey.
He also recalled that it will be one of the venues for the 2030 World Cup. «I trust that from now until then, and even after that date, La Cartuja will continue to be the natural home of our national football teams.»
Moreno emphasized that this Saturday, Madrid and Barça will embody the hopes accumulated by over a hundred teams that have participated, round after round, to reach this grand final, and that Seville and Andalucía will be the stage for this crucial moment to once again showcase themselves to Spain and the world as the jewel of Southern Europe.
