Today, the President of the Andalusian Government, Juanma Moreno, visited Unicaja Basketball, the champion of the 2025 Copa del Rey.

The event took place on the central court of Martín Carpena and was attended by the President of Unicaja Basketball, Antonio J. López Nieto, and the President of the Andalusian Government, Juanma Moreno.

During his speech, our President Antonio J. López Nieto emphasized the work of Juanma Moreno, stating that he has been with Unicaja «on this journey, where we have all those flags from 2023 to 2025 (referring to the championship flags hanging from the Carpena ceiling). Besides being the President, you are one of us, as you feel this team beyond institutional affection, from the heart.» To conclude the welcome, López Nieto gifted Juanma Moreno the ball from the Copa del Rey final signed by the entire team.

In return, Juanma Moreno thanked all Andalusians for the team’s recent success in Gran Canaria. The President of the Andalusian Government highlighted the work carried out by the Club: «Rarely do we see a management team, led by its president, Antonio Jesús López Nieto; a board of directors, coaching staff, all team members, owners… all aligned with a single goal, giving their best so we can enjoy all these achievements.»

Furthermore, Moreno highlighted the upcoming visit of the Club to His Majesty King Felipe VI on Thursday, March 13, stating that «this is the most solemn proof that you have not only honored this great city, which dreams, triumphs, and is happy with Unicaja, but also Andalusia and the whole of Spain. Many titles have been achieved through talent, attitude, a bit of luck, and a perfectly defined plan designed by the coaching staff led by Ibon Navarro.»

After the speeches concluded, the traditional family photo was taken with Juanma Moreno, Andalusian Government officials, the General Director of the Unicaja Foundation Sergio Corral, and the team and Club executives.
