Mijas, February 27, 2025.- The mayor of Mijas and councilor for Family and Equal Opportunities, Ana Mata, has presented today the complete program of activities organized for International Women’s Day, which will be commemorated on March 8th. The central event will be on that same day with the reading of the institutional manifesto and the celebration of the XVII Gala Mijas en Femenino.

“Not only as the mayor, but also as the councilor for Family and Equal Opportunities, and above all as a woman, March 8th is a key date in the calendar. For this reason, we present a very diverse program of activities in which a large number of Mijas’ collectives have been involved. We have a strong network of women’s associations, hence the joint work we carry out from the town hall and these associations is essential to add together to break down inequalities and advocate for the equity that we deserve as a society,” declared Ana Mata.

The activities will kick off on March 3rd with the talk ‘From Ashes to Wings’ by María Azuaga Ríos and the Women in Equality Association starting at 5:00 pm.
