Torre del Mar begins its summer storytelling program at the Biblioplaya, a highly participatory activity that will take place from Tuesday to Sunday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The event was presented by the Deputy Mayor of Vélez-Málaga and Deputy Mayor of Torre del Mar, Jesús Pérez Atencia, along with the Beach Councillor, David Vilches.
Pérez Atencia stated, «We are holding this press conference to announce that this summer the storytelling service is returning to the beach of Torre del Mar, alongside the well-established Biblioplaya, one of the most beloved cultural and recreational spaces by residents and visitors.»
According to the councilor, «This free activity will take place from Tuesday to Sunday in the afternoon, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., starting in early July and throughout the summer season. Our goal is to continue promoting reading, imagination, and creativity among the youngest ones, in a unique environment such as the beach, integrating reading habits into families’ vacation experiences. The program will feature participatory storytelling, dynamic animation, and small theatrical adaptations, tailored to different age groups, always in a close, fun, and educational atmosphere.»
Atencia invited «all families to enjoy this activity that promotes culture, education, and entertainment in one of the most emblematic locations on our coast. We look forward to seeing you at the Biblioplaya in Torre del Mar.»
The Beach Councillor of the Vélez-Málaga City Council, David Vilches, highlighted that «this year, each week will revolve around a different theme: During week 1, animal stories like ‘The Vain Little Mouse’ or ‘The Three Little Pigs.’ In week 2, adventure tales, with titles such as ‘The Wizard of Oz’ or ‘Sinbad the Sailor.’ Week 3 will feature magical stories, including classics like ‘Cinderella,’ ‘Aladdin,’ or ‘Jack and the Beanstalk.’ For week 4, dream stories, with heartwarming tales like ‘Guess How Much I Love You?’ or ‘The Teddy Bear.’ And in the final week, week 5, crazy stories, with more whimsical proposals like ‘The Pirate Espadrille,’ ‘Tom Thumb,’ or ‘The Milkmaid.'»
