Torremolinos reinforces coastal security with the addition of 15 beach assistants
Since May 23, they have been providing their services in the coastal area, coordinated by an officer and two local police officers, from 12:00 to 20:00 hours
Torremolinos, May 29, 2025.- The Mayor of Torremolinos, Margarita del Cid, together with the Councilor for Citizen Security, Cristóbal Molina, welcomed today the 15 beach assistants who have been reinforcing, since May 23, the surveillance service on the beaches, providing support and complementing the security already in place for the coastal area of the municipality.
These assistants carry out their activities coordinated by an officer and two local police officers, personnel who provide their services in the coastal area, both on foot and by bicycle, from 12:00 to 20:00 hours.
Torremolinos faces a significant increase in its population in the coming weeks with the start of the high season, which will bring thousands of tourists to the municipality, necessitating the reinforcement of various areas, including security.
These 15 beach assistants are based in Rincón del Sol, in La Carihuela, and have four units that will monitor the entire beach, from Bajondillo to Los Álamos, and three units that will do so in the area from Rincón del Sol to the border with Benalmádena.
The coordination and communication between beach assistants, local police officers, and lifeguards establish a special protocol to maintain security in the coastal area and address the needs that arise in the municipality due to the significant increase in population experienced during the high season.
