Respaldan la colección de libros ‘Momento Woman 2025’

The City Council has supported the ‘Momento Woman 2025’ initiative, a collection of books that highlights the importance of women’s sports. Mayor Ángeles Muñoz has endorsed the presentation of the five «charitable and inspiring» publications, which have involved a hundred people, emphasizing «the commitment of all project promoters and the great work carried out by all the clubs involved.» The mayor, accompanied by councilor Lisandro Vieytes, stressed that this project «is a gift for Marbella and a mirror in which society should look at» and emphasized the importance of «girls and women telling their own story» and «continuing to build a more equal society.»

Following the publication in 2024 of the book ‘Our Moment – It’s Our Time!’, promoted by Diana Galán and the Marbella Promesas Women’s Soccer Club, five new works have been added to the ‘Momento Woman 2025’ collection, capturing the experiences of more than 100 collaborators from various disciplines: ‘Mujer Pelotari’ (Club Frontenis Marbella); ‘This is us’ (Club Waterpolo Marbella); ‘Passion for Triathlon – Women triathletes breaking barriers’; ‘CADI Gota Cuenta – Women athletes leaving their mark’ and ‘More than a sport a passion’ (Club Gimnasia Rítmica Marbella).

«It is a tribute to all the girls and women who with their courage and passion have decided to defy the norms,» Vieytes pointed out, explaining that the Sports Department has contributed to this project by acquiring various copies of each book, which will be destined for municipal libraries and educational centers. The councilor also emphasized the charitable purpose of the initiative, as a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the works, published by the CenconC Association (Stories Written by Children with Heart), has been allocated to charitable causes chosen by each organization, such as AVOI, CADI, or the Super Heroes Association.

The event, attended by the protagonists of the five publications and representatives of local clubs, who were able to share their experiences with a large audience and firsthand knowledge of their colleagues, also recognized two women linked to the world of sports, Carmen Pastore ‘Pichu’ and Susie Griffin. «From the City Council, we wanted to celebrate an event that would give the city’s athletes the visibility they deserve,» added Vieytes.
