The City Council has endorsed today the new edition of Fuerte Nagüeles’ summer camps, which this year has increased the number of spots to 1,500. The Sports Councilor, Lisandro Vieytes, and the director of the facilities, Alfredo García, have presented the initiative, in collaboration with the council department, which «seeks to offer leisure alternatives to children in the summer and facilitate family reconciliation,» as highlighted by the councilor. He emphasized that the activities will mainly take place outdoors, with a program of 35 different disciplines, «through which students aged between 3 and 16 can enjoy the summer period.»
Another novelty of this year’s courses, which will run from June to September, will be the development of activities outside the Fuerte Nagüeles facilities for the age groups between 12 and 16 years old, who will be able to practice jet boat or karting, «workshops more attractive for the older participants.» On the other hand, students aged between 3 and 12 will spend their day in the usual venue, with various leisure and sports proposals, mainly. Vieytes thanked the director of the facility «for his willingness to continue improving year after year and continue to increase the disciplines that children can practice.» Additionally, he mentioned that the first 50 registered in each group with the athlete card will receive a direct discount of 30 euros.
On his part, García emphasized the support of the City Council and the mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, for this fundamentally educational activity, «but in which we also want the children to have fun.» «It is a program specially designed for children in our city,» stated the responsible for the facility, who highlighted that for this season «we have built new, more attractive spaces for the participants.» Regarding registrations, this year a reservation management system has been implemented on the Fuerte Nagüeles website to avoid trips to the offices, which will be operational from April 22 at 10:00 a.m.
