Furthermore, this road is one of the main access routes in the opposite direction: for suppliers traveling to the region, and it is also one of the major tourist access routes in our area, so the current situation will significantly affect tourism flow. For all these reasons, I believe we must act quickly and expedite the processes that are clearly emergency works.» Fernandez emphasized.
We work together
Throughout the week, we will be informed of the progress of the works that will need to be carried out, «but I understand that it will be a project that will take time, because the landslide has occurred in the worst place on the entire road,» Fernandez has anticipated. For all these reasons, «I believe that institutional loyalty is constant, and we are all working together since this happened. We are currently waiting for the weather to calm down so that we can analyze with guarantees and safety everything that has happened and what will be done, because the pending work is a priority in the province of Malaga.»
In addition to the meeting with the mayors, this afternoon, Fernandez will meet with the officials of the Junta de Andalucía, both the delegate of the Andalusian Government, Patricia Navarro, and the territorial delegate of Development, Territorial Articulation of Housing, María Rosa Morales, to address the situation in an updated manner.

Other consequences of the storm
Other consequences of the storm passing through Ronda have included the collapse of a perimeter wall on Eucalipto Street in the vicinity of IES Gonzalo Huesa on Saturday. It is a construction next to an undeveloped plot, and the Works Brigade has taken action to secure the area, prop it up, cover the slope with plastics, and thereby reduce the chances of further damage. From the Department of Education, we have relocated the students so they can attend their classes normally. During the day, the technician from the Education Delegation of the Junta de Andalucía has assessed the situation and made the necessary decisions.
On the other hand, the special device coordinated with 112 that has been operating in the city since the orange alert was declared has handled various cases of tree falls that have affected some roads such as the Desfiladero path, the Las Muelas pass, and the Navares and Tejares road had to be temporarily closed to prevent vehicular passage due to the rise in the riverbed in the area, preventively. Additionally, the wind has caused some materials to fall on the public road.
