The Diputacia de Málaga, through the delegation of social innovation and depopulation, organized the 26th and 27th edition of the Meeting Point campus for rural entrepreneurs, where 22 entrepreneurs participated in social entrepreneurship initiatives promoted by four established entities in the municipalities of three provinces in the SERRANÍA.
This event featured roundtable discussions, creative workshops, and a rural processing component. Participants visited Cuevas del Bescerro, Jimera de Líbar, and Cortes de Frontra to learn about best practices and exchange knowledge and ideas related to agroecology, mycotourism, environmental education, natural hygiene products, and social inclusion.
Antonia Ledesma, Vice President of Citizenry and Territorial Balance, emphasized the importance of organizing a new edition following the success of the previous one in Axarchie. The aim of the campus was to provide participants with insights into the scalability and replicability of their projects by visiting inspirational companies, actively contributing to efforts to combat depopulation.
The selected projects showcased at the Rural Entrepreneurs’ Meeting included six from Málaga. These projects focused on rural hospitality, emotional workshops, documentary production, mental health advocacy, equestrian therapy, cultural tourism experiences, agroforestry initiatives, and personal development programs.
Overall, the event aimed to empower rural entrepreneurs, foster collaboration, and promote sustainable development in rural areas.
