The opening of the exhibition by the famous artist Coco Dávez kicks off the second literary festival of Malaga in EstePona (FLST) this Friday, which will run until next Sunday at the Centro Cultural Mirador del Carmen.
The illustrator presents a collection of 17 works that, under the title «Facless,» gather the essence of his work, perfectly recognized for the use of color and the disappearance of the faces of great personalities.
The mayor of EstePona, José María García Urbano, visited the exhibition, which will be officially inaugurated this afternoon, starting at 8:00 p.m., and highlighted the quality of an artist who transcends borders due to his originality.
The councilor emphasized that this second edition of FLST «appreciates progress in the cultural field, demonstrated not only by the new team created in the city, but also by high-quality activities such as this literary festival.»
The opening ceremony of the exhibition, which can be visited on Terraza Street, will have the presence of the artist, who will also be accompanied by designer Córdoba Palomo España, owner of the Galería de Arte Fresh Topacio, and singer Soleá Merent.
It is a collection of portraits in which the faces do not appear, but the figures of the characters are perfectly recognizable. There are names that, according to the artist, have marked life in some way. In this way, several iconic figures of the 20th century are represented, such as Pablo Picasso, David Bowie, or Chiquito de Calzada, among others.
The exhibition, which includes works created exclusively for this occasion, will be displayed outdoors and can be visited until September 15. With this exhibition, EstePona joins cities like London or Hong Kong, which also hosted the «Faceless» project.
Valeria Palmeiro, known as Coco Dávez, is an artist from Madrid who has developed her career in various fields: painting, photography, and art direction. Her colorful universe has led her to collaborate with major brands such as Shiseido, Netflix, Dior, or Prada, among others. Her works have been exhibited in cities like London, Hong Kong, Paris, Miami, Lisbon, Barcelona, Madrid, or Santiago de Chile. Forbes magazine has chosen her multiple times as a reference in the art world.
On the other hand, they recalled that the program on this first day of the literary festival will be completed at 7:30 p.m. at the Centro Cultural Mirador del Carmen with a book signing by the famous romance literature author and best-selling author Megan Maxwell, along with author Sandra Miró, with whom she will participate in the «dialogue» at 9:00 p.m. Another prominent name in poetry, Luis García Montero, the Director of the Cervantes Institute, will participate at 10 p.m. in the «Poets at El Faro» section. The author will sign books at 10:45 p.m.
The day will conclude at 11:00 p.m. with a concert by singer Soleá Morentre, an artist from one of the most renowned Flamenco families in our country.
