Luis Gil, Luis Mediero, Fernando Gil, and Alberto Gil Announce Estepona’s Hosting of the 30th Anniversary of the Spanish Youth Tennis Circuit
The councilor of the Sports delegation, Luis Gil; the president of the Professional Tennis Registry (RPT), Luis Mediero; and the president and manager of Estepona Tennis and Padel Club, Fernando and Alberto Gil, respectively, announced today that the city will once again host the oldest Youth Tennis Circuit in Spain from May 26 to June 1. This year marks the circuit’s thirtieth anniversary.
Event Details
The tournament will take place at Estepona Tennis and Padel Club, featuring youth categories such as Cadet Sub16 and Junior Sub18. The event will be overseen by Fernando Gil and Alberto Gil, with David Gómez serving as the referee, managing participants from various parts of Spain.
Professional Development Courses
Alongside the competition, professional training and certification courses for tennis, padel, and pickleball coaches have been organized by the RPT, Padel Professional Registry, and Pickleball Professional Registry. These courses, led by Luis Mediero, Alberto Gil, and Gabriel Cuadros, aim to enhance coaching skills in the respective sports.

Special Recognition
During the event, Estepona Mayor José María García Urbano and RPT President Luis Mediero presented Fernando Gil with the International Master Professional award, the highest honor for a tennis coach globally. This prestigious recognition is held by only 56 individuals worldwide, including renowned professionals like Nick Bollettieri, Antonio Nadal, and Emilio and Arantxa Sánchez Vicario.
About RPT and the Circuit
The RPT is a pioneer in promoting youth tennis in Spain and has been organizing the National RPT – MARCA by Wilson Circuit since 1995. The 30th edition of the circuit will feature 83 events across Spain, supported by the Spanish Tennis Federation and partnerships with Tennis-Point, NH hotels, NutriSport, and other sports organizations. Over 6,000 players are expected to participate in this year’s circuit.

El concejal adscrito a la delegación de Deporte, Luis Gil; el presidente del Registro Profesional de Tenis RPT, Luis Mediero; y el presidente y el gerente del Club Tenis y Pádel de Estepona, Fernando y Alberto Gil, respectivamente, han anunciado hoy que la ciudad acogerá nuevamente, del 26 de mayo al 1 de junio, el Circuito Juvenil más longevo del Tenis Español, que este año celebra su trigésimo aniversario.
La prueba que se disputará en el Club de Tenis y Padel Estepona, en las categorías juveniles, Cadete Sub16 y Junior Sub18, estará dirigida por Fernando Gil y Alberto Gil, actuando de juez árbitro David Gómez, que tendrán que coordinar a los participantes procedentes de distintos puntos de España.
Además, durante el desarrollo de tan importante competición se han organizado diferentes cursos de formación y certificación profesional para entrenadores de tenis, pádel y pickleball organizados por el Registro Profesional de Tenis, Registro Profesional de Pádel y Registro Profesional de Pickleball, que serán impartidos por Luis Mediero, Alberto Gil y Gabriel Cuadros, respectivamente.

Durante el acto el alcalde de Estepona, José María García Urbano, y el presidente del Registro Profesional de Tenis RPT, Luis Mediero, han entregado a Fernando Gil, la Internacional Master Professional, máxima distinción como entrenador de tenis a nivel internacional. Se trata de un reconocimiento del más alto nivel que solo lo poseen 56 personas en el mundo, profesionales de la talla de Nick Bollettieri, Antonio Nadal, Emilio y Arantxa Sánchez Vicario y Juan Carlos Ferrero, entre otros.
El Registro Profesional de Tenis – RPT es el más antiguo y mayor promotor del Tenis Juvenil en España, organizando desde 1995 el Circuito Nacional RPT – MARCA by Wilson, que en su 30° edición tendrá 83 pruebas por toda la geografía española, con el apoyo de la Real Federación Española de Tenis, y la colaboración de Tennis-Point, NH hotels, NutriSport, HdI, ICI Sports University y APE deporte. Este año se estima que participen en el Circuito más de 6.000 jugadores.
